“Joshua, just stay in the waiting room, I’ll be done soon enough,” Asher said.
“Have fun with your EKG. I’ll just be reading my textbook,” Joshua responded. Asher let out a laugh before following the nurse.
After as few minutes of mindlessly staring at his textbook, someone tapped Joshua’s shoulder. “Is the seat next to you taken?”
“By you,” Joshua said.
“Thank you! I’m Lucas by the way. What’s your name?”
“Not yours to know.”
“Oh, sorry. I’ll leave you alone,” Lucas said, pulling his phone out. Joshua then went back to his textbook. Not too long later, Asher came back into the waiting room, practically dragging Joshua away, leaving Lucas in the room.
“Lucas, follow me to get your EKG. You know the procedure,” the nurse called.
“Yes, ma’am.”
