When I woke up I ran to the bathroom mirror. I had to check just to be sure. When I looked into the mirror I froze. No. The irises of my bright green eyes were rimmed with a dark blue. No no no no. This can't be happening. I checked my teeth. Where dull teeth should have been were extremely sharp fangs. This can't be happening. How am I going to hide this from my family?! I took a deep breath. “Your okay. You'll figure something out.” My contacts! I had green contacts in my medicine cabinet. My friend had used them on Halloween and left the extras at my house. They weren't the same exact shade as my eyes but it'd work.
I dug them out and quickly put them in. “Okay. One problem fixed for now.” What about the fangs? There is really nothing I can do about that. I'll just need to talk as little as possible. After a pep talk I walked down stairs certain my family would see the fangs or the off shade of my eyes. But instead I was greeted by a note on the table. It read, "Dear Eva. Me, your sister, and your father are going to Main for spring break. So you'll be alone here for a week. There is money on the table for food. Call me or dad if you need anything. Love you sweetie. - Mom, Dad, Krista."
I almost fainted with relief. I totally forgot about the Main trip. My mom and dad wanted to visit one of our many cousins in Main and gave me and Krista the option to go with them or stay here. Krista went and I stayed. At least I didn't need to worry about hiding these things for now. I stroked the necklace still wrapped around my wrist. What did dream woman say? “ll you need to do is tell the necklace to take you to training and go to sleep. It will take you back here so we can start your training.” I guess I've got no other choice. I took a sleeping pill to calm my nerves and curled up on the couch. I looked at the necklace, “alright, were in this together. Take me to training.” The sleeping pill kicked in as I drifted off to sleep.
