So I attended a lecture the other day, and it reminded me of our first phone call. The speaker mentioned how during an exchange program in Norway, he realized that over there they had different words for "love" depending of what stage of relationship you are at: beginning relationship love, sensual love, ready to move in love, want to get married love, old spouses love, love for your kids, love for your pets, love for chocolate... He then mentioned "In English, all I could remember about love was that I shouldn't be the first one to say it!"... Oh how I can relate lol...
I absolutely did not mean to blurt out the "I love you" so soon... (I did like him a lot already though... we had been friends for a long time already). The thing is, people who know me well will know that I often finish phone calls to my parents with "love you! kisses" or to my gal friends with "love you sweetie"... so it was mostly a reflex, and a very unintentional first "I love you" in our relationship. He does enjoy teasing me about it now and then though.
Welcome to Peach and Cream. I am a French Canadian of Vietnamese decent (Peach), while my husband is English Canadian of German decent (Cream).
Together, we write these little comics depicting our adventures as we mix both our cultures and everything we love. We also now have our little toddler Twinkie and baby Melon to share our story with.
Do let us know if you've had similar experiences in your life!
PS: We publish one episode per week every Tuesday ^-^ Hope you enjoy the read!
