After finishing up whatever chores we had left, we all gathered up and went to lunch
By the time we had gotten there it was more than halfway filled with people from different ranks and sectors, most of which I didn't recognize.
They all, of course, came up to me to congratulate me on the mission.
"I heard from one of the sergeants that you'd be heading off to your very first mission pretty soon."
I nodded and smiled.
"Its just a rescue mission, but yes. I'm quite excited."
The officer smiled back and sat down next to me.
"I remember my first mission like it was yesterday. I was scared shitless. Of course, that came with my fear of aliens. Some are ruthless creatures, but others are really kind."
I nodded at every little thing the officer had to say.
"Don't worry, any alien I come across is as good as dead."
I said, getting up and throwing my food away.

"Dammit Watson, I don't get how you can be so good at every card game you come across."
I hear Timothy yell.
"Well Jefferson, I come from a long line of gamblers."
Violet says, rather proudly.
I decide to walk in before things start being thrown.
"Hey kids, hope everything is okay, nothing broken?"
I ask smugly, they both roll their eyes.
"Don't worry dad, we're perfectly fine. Although Timmy over here was starting to cry over the fact that I was winning."
"You weren't winning! I was just letting you off easily!"
I chuckled, sitting down in a chair across from them.
"As much as I love it when you two fight like this, we gotta start getting down to business. We leave tomorrow for the mission, which means we got to start getting ready."
They set their card game down and get up from the bed they were sitting on and grab their bags, beginning to pack them.
"Make sure to pack extra food and clothes."
I say while packing my own bag.
After all of our bags were packed, we all hopped into bed, ready for whats to come in the morning.
