Waking up that same morning, Vayne Belmont slid right out of his bed before a maid or otherwise was sent to awake him. He had too much energy. With a slight spring in his step the male slid into his proper princely wear; top of scarlet red variants while his trousers were pitch black. Not the happiest of colors but hey. They weren't his to choose. Once clothed he slid over to his mirror and fussed with different ways of styling his hair.
Maybe gelled back? No didn't fit him.
Maybe with the bangs fashioned in a way they fluttered just above his eye lids?. No, he preferred to be able to see.
Guess boring as usual.
Once boots were slipped onto his feet he laced them up and exited his room.
Before making his way to where he was meant to meet for a small meeting Vayne made a slight pit stop.
To Ryu's room.
Everything was left as it was while the man was alive the only addition being an urn settled next to a portrait and vase of flowers atop a table.
Making his way over, Vayne gave the urn a quick bow before patting himself to be sure everything was in place. “I just came here to tell you a few things Ryu and then you may not see from me for a while. If at all.” He cleared his throat.
“You need not watch over him any longer. Go on and you know. Rest in peace and whatnot. I'll watch over him. Granted I always did even while he was yours. You knew that too, didn't you? You probably enjoyed tormenting me.” A soft chuckle. “Grasping his hand while in my company. Stealing his lips.” He paused for a few moments, lowering his voice. “I don't want your permission to court him. I just...thought you might like to know. I still cannot forgive you for what you did to him. Every meeting our kingdom has they tell of his lost spark. Whenever I sneak over to catch a glance he looks so lonely and I...Wait a minute! I did not come here to get depressed.” Another throat clearing. “I guess that is all. I hope you are well. Big brother.”
With that Vayne left the room without a glance behind, closing the door behind himself with a sigh and a few light smacks to his cheeks. Focus!
The prince made his way away from the room and down the halls towards where his father called a small meeting before they were to meet the envoys of the mage kingdom.
Once he approached the entrance he forced open the door and took note of the others bowing a greeting and his father's neutral gaze. Vayne ignored the feeling it first gave him and instead plastered on a faux smile. “What a lovely morning it is today. Father. Guards.” It was easier to simply greet them collectively than by separate names seeing as there was a moderate group of five. These were the more trusted in the royal guard and when needed, army.
Vayne's father, Ren beckoned his son closer with his eyes to which Vayne obliged. “I will keep this short but clear. No fights are to break out on our territory currently. However. I have no wish to grant their request of a treaty. Once this war officially starts there are no rules am I clear?”
Immediately the guards placed fists to their chests and called out their acknowledgement. Vayne however turned face away and bit his lip. Of course Ren didn't let that go unnoticed.
“Vayne.” Coldly his name was called.
“Yes. Right. You are clear father.” The prince bit the inside of his cheek hard enough to draw blood as he responded. He didn't agree at all, however, it would have been a horrible time to be on his father's bad side.
“Now. Let us greet them and make them feel at home...only to take away the hope we instilled in them.” Ren broke into a hearty laugh as the guards sent themselves off to keep watch and to fetch their guests.
