One can tell a lot from a person from their walk. Anyone in show-biz knows this better than anyone else. Buisness men walk in a way that conveys a certain level of confidence, with a hint of that distinct charm.
So, in the peculiar way a walk does, Nathen's walk drew the eyes of everyone around him, leading him to slow to an eventual halt, sending a rather perplexed look around the room.
It had been hard enough explaining to Matthew why he'd tried to take his jeep to work instead of the tiny smart car. And now, as all five people in the peculiarly small police station stared into Nathen's back, a now familiar sense of dread was kicking in.
He managed a smile, and forced a wink. It must've been convincing, for a couple people's mouths dropped open. Which would have been fine, if one of the lovely women hadn't begun aproaching him. Well- now that Nathen bothered to think of it- the only lovely women.
Dani Brown gave Sarah a huge smile. "Miss!- er wait- you're married... what was that one again...."
Nathen let out a harsh chuckle at Dani's babbling.
After only about five, or maybe five and a half, minutes Danni finally remembered the word Mrs, and proceeded with her conversation. "Mrs. Sarah! Did you catch that drug dealer man? Or lady! Or non-gender conforming person! I'm non-discriminatory! Everyone can be equally evil!"
Nathen took a moment to compose himself, realising this new situation might be the key to freeing himself from this dreadful... slightly attractive female body. "Of course- er-" Nathen had to take a quick glance at Dani's nametag to remember her name "Danielle".
Dani let out a short huff. "It's Dani".
Nathen composed a charming smirk "Sarah."
Dani must've forgotten why she was there, or maybe Nathens smirk was far too charming, because she simply blinked and then returned to her desk.
Dani's walk was a bit of a skip, one that made her hips sway and her long brown curls bounce. It was almost ditzy, in a seductive sort of way.
Nathen quickly snapped out of that train of thought; checking out female coworkers while somewhat, debatably, female, was out of the question. He wouldn't want word getting around Mrs. Sarah Lee Clarke-Jones was lusting after other woman; then again, it occured to Nathen.
Nathen hated Sarah. Nathen despised Sarah with the type of hatred only shared between those on opposite sides of the spectrum.
Obviously, Nathen was the hero, and Sarah the demented vicious villain.
Nathen shot another glance at Dani, and around the room at his other coworkers. All men, in various stages of middle age and various stages of fat.
Nathen was having a very interesting Idea. A very interesting Idea indeed.
