Clementine
Right after I left the room I ended up bumping into Harley. He looked at me then at Jubilee in my hands.
He gave me a soft smile and followed me to the office where I called my stepmom and he called his family so we could leave school early.
He always would follow me when we were young. He kept the same amount of distance between us each time; about a foot.
I hated the silence so when he would follow me I would hold out my hand from behind and he would grab it gently and hum close to me.
To be honest I like him, I like him a lot. He’s caring and protective and doesn’t call me crazy for having so many pets, in fact he helps me take care of them.
In middle school he confessed that he liked me, at the time I liked him too but I believed I was too young to date and that I might mess everything up. He understood my worries and continued to be my shadow of protection.
In freshman year of high school he confessed his feelings again. I remember that day so vividly, I remember exactly what I told him. “You don’t deserve a prissy rich girl like me that can get whatever she wants. People like me are cruel and heartless but you opened my heart more than anyone has in my entire life. I deserve to suffer in pain and probably be forced to marry someone I hate while you deserve a happy life with your true love that is nothing like me…”
I didn’t cry when I said any of that, I just stared at him and he stared back. He didn’t back down though.
In sophomore year there was a huge storm. We were stuck in his parents underground cellar while they were out of the country. One of my biggest fears is storms, all the loud noises and flashing light give me massive panic attacks.
We sat in a damp corner as he held me tightly in his arm whispering poems in my ear. The loudest rumble of thunder sounded and I screamed and cried. I only calmed down when I felt Harley’s lips on mine. Everything went silent and the only thing that mattered was Harley.
As he kissed me he slid something onto my finger, it was a ring. He told me that he would rather die than to marry someone other than me. I started crying again but for a completely different reason.
A week after the storm he actually proposed to me when he took me on a trip to Britain. I couldn’t help but say yes after everything he’s done for me.
We both decided to keep our relationship private just so no one freaks out about our engagement.
In two and a half weeks it will be our two year anniversary. Last year I told Oliver about it cause he is my best friend after all, he supports up entirely.
Harley is my everything and he feels the same way about me. While we were in Britain I got to meet his grandparents and I discovered that they own a tea industry.
I got to see their factory and have some of their family teas passed down from generation to generation. They accepted me as part of their family and we had a quaint little tea party with their family tea and some scones I made. Harley never looked happier on that day.
When we’re at school and Harley’s friends accused him us liking or dating me he always gets mad cause we’re much more than that.
His parents and my stepparents are great friends and support our us and our moms are trying to plan our wedding. This year we actually did start planning our wedding since we’ll be in college next year.
Harley and I decided on a black and white bohemian wedding in a meadow at night with fireflies and the moon and stars above us.
As I fantasize about the wedding, we finally get to my mansion that was passed down to me by my mysterious parents.
We walk in to be greeted by my one of my dogs who’s a blueish purebred greyhound named Cloud and my twin Siamese cats named Nora and Lora.
Harley picks up Nora and Lora cause they like him a lot. My other cat only likes me, he’s a black angora with orange eyes named Lucifer. Lucifer has and deep meow and purr which makes his seem fancy.
My other dog is nine, he’s laying in his doggy bed and looks up at me as I kneel in front of him. He’s my chubby black corgi named Licorice who loves licking my face and being spoiled.
Outside in the pool are my two troublemaking light brown capybaras named Bonnie and Clyde.
In one of the pool chairs is my gold teddy guinea pig named pirate. He sometimes steals my money and hogs it like it’s his.
Something starts to crawl up my leg and I recognize it as my orange rosy boa constrictor named Syrup. She curls around my neck like a necklace a just falls asleep.
Out in the huge field my two llamas are playing with my horse. The tan llama is named Calypso and the black and white one is named Zelda. The horse is a black gypsy horse named Esmeralda.
They chase each other by the koi pond that has two koi fish. One white with a black spot on his head and the other black with a white spot on her head. And of course it’s only appropriate to named them Yin and Yang.
Harley and I feed them and introduce them to Jubilee and Jubilee to them. Jubilee seemed to cling onto Licorice and layed on him as he slept.
I prepared snacks and we went to the theater room to watch a movie. We cuddle up in the wide seats and watch a fun action movie which is both of our favorite genres.
When the movie ends we stay there and eventually fall asleep. Me in his arms and him holding me like nothing else mattered.
