After lunch, Carter and I walked to our Choir class. Carter has the best singing voice, better than any girl or boy.
Today we got a free day but the teacher told us that before we got free time that we had to write a song and perform it to the class. She said that the theme of the song is “What’s in your heart?”.
What’s in my heart? The only thing in my heart is Blake and my love of sweets but how can I combine that?
Carter already has his song done so of course he performs first. He stands there pound and starts humming the melody first…
“Little butterfly”
“Don’t fly away!”
“You’re all I have today”
“My hearts’ as delicate as your painted wing…”
“Love don’t die”
“Can’t you see”
“You mean everything to me”
“Please my darling don’t cry”
“Ohh!”
“Sweetness and softness”
“Hurt me more than pain”
“Your love”
“My love”
“It’s not the same!”
“Please!”
“Be delicate with my heart”
“I knew you wanted to break it from the start!”
“Why can’t you see”
“You were everything to me”
“Everything to me…”
His gentle heartbreak/love song brought people to tears including me. His songs are always beautiful and I’m stuck in songwriters block.
I guess he sees my worry and frustration since her decides to help me with lyrics and rhythm.
After a while we finally came up with a cute song that was actually pretty good.
When it came to my turn I became a nervous wreck. I tried to calm myself down, breathe in, breathe out, and sing…
“My sweet prince”
“You make my heartbeat”
“Your love is my swe-eet treat”
“And, oh”
“You give me cavities”
“I love the things you do to me”
“How can you steal my cotton candy heart?”
“Your sweetness is making my teeth rot”
“Oh sweet boy”
“You give me cavities”
“Your love can give me diabetes”
“My sweet prince”
“I love how you love me”
“Give me cavities”
“G-give me cavities”
“Oh I love the things you do to me”
“Your kisses are sugar”
“Their deadly”
“Oh sweet boy”
“Give my cavities”
“Give me cavities”
“G-give me cavities …”
It was silent for a second then everyone started cheering and clapping for me. The teacher even cheered and love my song and made a joke saying that it was so sweet that it made her teeth hurt.
The only thing that worried me was one person who recorded and posted my whole song. No one will see it though…right?
For the rest on class, Carter and I did a finish my song challenge. He would sing a lyric first then I would sing something and we would just go back and forth until we had a full song.
“What if…”
“Love never…”
“Happened …”
“What if…”
“Love…”
“Isn’t true!…”
“It’s true!...”
“What are you?...”
“Who are you?...”
“What are we to do?…”
“Should I…”
“Have never…”
“Loved you?…”
“Ohh!…”
“Was I…”
“Wrong…”
“To you…”
“To you!”
“But what are we to do!…”
“What…”
“Are we…”
“To do…”
The teacher clapped for us as we finished the song and we just smiled happily and chuckled about the random words that we can put into music.
After Choir class I had Mythology class or Mythics as the teacher calls it. Ms. D, our lovely but crazy teacher that is possibly on LSD twenty-four seven. She’s always energetic, excitable, and loud.
Today she wore a thirteenth century gold and and white queen's dress with every detail to perfection.
She walked in with a ceptor and slow, graceful step that made a clunk on the floor with each step.
She put on a British accent and preppy queen voice. “Today student, you shall write an epic. Epic’s are poems or stories, some about heroes and some for love. I myself have received many love epics of course.”
As she taught, we just watched and wrote small epic poems of our own which was quite fun.
One of my final classes was Theatre. I never did any acting but I was the one behind basically all of the costumes.
Today I was doing concept sketches of what I think Juliet’s dress should look like.
Romeo and Juliet is set in the same time period as Ms. D’s dress. The thirteenth century was quite a time it seems.
The dress should be modest, Elizabethan style is best suited. It should be too fancy but just fancy enough. Maybe I should add a tunic? I’ll review it with Scarlett since she’ll be Juliet, she always played the main roles.
I start hearing noise in the audience area so I peek my head around the corner. Mr. D’s class seems to be paying us a visit, I should go say hi and introduce my role but something stops me.
In the crowd of student I catch his sweet voice, his red hair, and those cloudy blue eyes that take my breath away. This is Blake’s class!
