*shit* (since we’re now in the story and it’s already marked for language ^^)
Rory was startled back to reality when he heard Kei's office door open.
He looked up, expecting to see Kei, but what he saw instead had him questioning the sanity of his brain.
A tall woman with blood red hair, eyes to match, and skin the color of night met Rory's wide eyes with a smirk.
"It's a damn shame that there's no escape for you." The woman purred, taunting him.
Rory raised his eyebrows, anger just below the surface. "What the fuck do you mean?"
The woman waltzed over and leaned against the desk. "You were promised an escape, to be watched from afar...but he isn't playing fair. You'll fall for him within the week."
Rory narrowed his eyes as he bit back what he truly wanted to say. "If you have something to say just say it."
The woman gave him an unkind smile. "He didn't pick you because you were about to die. In fact, I think it was more of an excuse on his end to claim you as his own. He gets jealous. Be careful not to date anyone. Ever."
Rory's mouth fell open in utter confusion. "What the fuck?"
Only responding with a wink, the strange woman left almost as quickly as she came.
Rory let out a frustrated breath and ran his hands through his hair. He was so close to letting out a scream and ended up chocking on air when he felt someone's hand grasp his shoulder.
"Easy, easy," a familiar voice hummed.
Rory looked up and met Kei's concerned eyes. "Uh...were you in a meeting with a woman a few minutes ago?"
A look flashed across Kei's face but Rory couldn't quite make it out. "No. I've been alone all morning. Why?"
Rory raised an eyebrow, doing his best to not freak out. "No reason."
Kei handed him a file. "If you have any questions, just ask."
"Right..." Rory muttered, taking the file and watching Kei saunter back to his office.
What the literal fuck?
