Walking down the stairs gives me chance to reflect
A swing and a twirl
I see a flash of pink
Like that of a sunset
Rising and falling the edge just barely brushing the ground
I watch mesmerized by the flow
Like the sun has when it hits just right on the edge
Of darkness and light
Catching the color of dark blue
I see the partner that dances with you
Wrapped in darkness
He guides you with certainty
Like the moon has for thousands of years
He spins you both to where I see his back
The bounce of curls in his short hair
Defy gravity like what we find on the moon
The two of you make a show
To everyone that tells a story of the sun and moon
How they dance every day and night
When the changing of light and darkness takes place
In sync you two do not need help
For you both know this dance
For thousands of years this has been happening
I stand alone watching
Like the stars do when they gaze upon
You both, wishing to be a part of something sacred
Though I shine myself
I do not hold a candle to the light that is you both
You spin behind the pink and blue to make
A beautiful sight, one that makes me
Think of the sun encroaching on the night
Giving it a splash of color
You two do so well together
But who wouldn’t know
Since this is not the first time
You two have danced together
I stand on the edge
Of neither here nor there
Watching this dance of a story
Wishing I could be a part of it
Though I myself do not dance
Since I am just a star
That watches from afar
Wrapped in gold
I cannot even begin to hold
A candle to this display of love and trust
I wish to add the gold to this dance
Like in the summer times rays
Of dusk and dawn
I may not be light nor darkness
But oh how I wish
I was both
So that I may have a small place amongst you both
But even if I am a star
I do not get a wish
No matter how many times I make it
Even so, I get a chance to watch this show
Every day and though repetitive
I do not tire of it
For even the joy of watching you two be happy
Is enough for me to keep on shining
So ill be a star that lingers
Just on the edge of this story
Of day and night
