Werewolves have four 'events' in their lives that ‘define’ them.
The first doesn’t always happen, and when it does it occurs mostly in stronger wolves born to Alpha or Betas. If this change occurs in other members of the Pack it means the pup has great potential, and is well trained and educated to ensure they become irreplaceable gears in the workings of the Pack.
This change is when a pup’s ‘human’ eyes change color, this usually happens between the ages of 3 and 7 and isn’t just a shade lighter or darker but an actual change in color such as from brown to green or blue to black… (Many wolves’ eyes can change slightly in shade of the same color depending on their moods)
If their eyes don’t change color during this time, it doesn’t mean anything, but if it does it means the pup is ‘stronger’ than others pups, it is why many Alphas and Betas prey to the moon-goddess for this change, as proof their child ‘will’ be a strong wolf!
Of course this does not define the eye color of their ‘wolf’. If trained they can change their eye color back to its original color but very few are ever able to do this and in many cases many wolves are unaware that the eye color can turn back to normal.
The second event is when they shift for the first time, this happens during the ages 10 and 14 and again the younger they shift the ‘stronger’ it is believed they are and or will be able to become.
Something even more sought after to see for the first time is the color of the wolf’s eyes and fur. Darker fur is most sought after in warriors and the males (especially for Alphas and Betas) while lighter coats are desirable in females. But do not get the wrong idea, many wolves with a white coats have proven themselves equal in strength with a wolf with a black coat and many brown or grey or mixed fur colored wolves are just as powerful.
But the eyes will always be a peculiarity in wolves.
Golden, yellow eyes or Dark almost black eyes are considered rare and as proof of a ‘strong’ wolf. Blue and green eyes are next and highly ‘valued’ as beautiful, finally brown, and grey-ish eyes are most common. But those with red eyes who aren’t Blood Wolves are considered ‘cursed’, many tragedies have followed these wolves even causing the total annihilation of their Packs…
And finally silver eyes or 'white' (not to be confused with grey eyes which is quite common in wolves); these are the eyes of either a clairvoyant from the Moon Wolves or an Oracle – which will be explained later on in a separate section.
The third event is when a Werewolf turns sixteen they will be able to ‘find’ their mate – their destined mate or ‘soul-mate’, they might spend years with a close friend and only when they are both sixteen and or older would they know they are destined mates. When a mate rejects their ‘soul mate’ or when one dies, very few are blessed to have a second mate - About 1 in every thousand ‘might’ have a second-destined-mate.
Even rarer are wolves who have mates who aren’t ‘Werewolves’.
The fourth and last event is the time a wolf is of age, when they are no longer considered a ‘pup’; at the age of 21 a Werewolf’s wolf form will have finished growing, just like a human that grows until a certain height and ‘stops’. It is only from this age a wolf may ‘fully’ inherit his ‘title’ – an Alpha taking over from his father or a new Beta taking in his position next to the new Alpha (of course there are other prerequisites for them to take over as per his ‘title’, but the first is that they must be of age)
