theres a sadness

and a stillness

that accompanies the knowledge that this is

over

like sitting in a dark theater 

after the credits

or longing for sunrise

during dusk;

all things must come to an

end

everything that starts

must fall

and all things that are born

will fade.

it doesnt always have to be sad

like the last touch of a lover

or the final curtain call;

sometimes

things must end

for them to truly become

immortal
