I absolutely adore Sumiko. I like the bold but excessively thick lines and the bright colors. Your backgrounds will improve with work. My only real issue is with the lettering. I would recommend a bigger, more comicbook looking font (though of course not Comic Sans). The font you're using is a big small, faint, and harder to read, and bolder lettering might better complement your art.
