"Your home planet? But we- the ship- what?"
Ax chuckled and set me down onto the ground.
"Teleportation, Jacob. How else do you think I could've gotten on a ship stranded ten hundred light years away from my planet in the span of a week?
"Ten hundred...WERE TEN HUNDRED LIGHT YEARS AWAY?"
My jaw dropped slightly as I paced around the hustling crowd of aliens, turning around to find Ax on his knees, laughing.
"You never told me it was THIS far away! If I would've know I wouldn't have gone with you! How the hell am I supposed to tell everyone back on the Andromeda that I'm okay?"
I paced back towards Ax, my foot tapping on the silver streets.
"Well? What do you have to say for yourself?
Ax looked up, still laughing, and shrugged.
"There is nothing to say, but there is much to do!"
He stood up and took my hand and began walking.
"First, we must get you Acquainted with the land and its people, then you''ll have to meet the elder"
He started to talk faster, his face turning a light shade of red, a smile growing on his face, making me smile.
"Ax, calm down, you're talking so fast, I can't understand what your sayin."
I said, placing a hand on his shoulder."
He smiled and sighed.
"I'm sorry, I'm just excited. I've been looking all over for my mate, and look, here you are."
"Well I suppose thats- wait. What do you mean by 'Mate'?"
Ax chuckled.
"What else would I mean by it? Think of it as...finding a soulmate, I suppose.'
My palms started sweating, along with my face as I felt my heart drop.
I had a wife and a child back at home.
Friends, too.
All of which i lost in a day.
