Two moons

Kyoko has been the driving force behind this story since the beginning. When watching a tv series with a friend of mine I caught a glimpse of the figure of a deer posed as a praying bride, or so I remember it. I don't want to watch the episode back. It's better for the image to just brew in my mind. :-)
This creature I saw inspired me to draw the first piece featuring Kyoko, though at the time I called her Lorna. Most of the time I'd simply refer to her as 'Hertendame', Dutch for 'Lady Doe'.
She featured in a series of drawings that consisted of her, two moons, and another animal. I will dig up the last drawing and upload it here, too.
Now that I look back on all the short manga and comics that I've created (it must be over 15) I'm glad I kept working on this very story. There've been several other worlds and storylines that I wanted to turn into a long-lasting webcomic, but none of them captured my fascination in the long term. But Weaker Sides survived with a vengeance! Even after rewriting the overall storyline, radically changing Ashley's personality (more on that later) and realizing that I was being too ambitious (I wanted to incorporate video, animation and sound into WS as well), I felt motivated to get started and make this story happen.
Some characters and tales need quite some time to grow, partially rot away and die, compost into better soil and then surprise you by sprouting and taking root. Don't give up too soon, honeys.
