Chapter 6
“You…. are a very good Queen all the humans know this. Incredibly bright to find a way for both Humans and Demons to live in peace. So…. im grateful to you for this.” Sterling mumbled out.
Victoria blinked in confusion.
He seemed to not be telling the full truth, she was a Demon Queen it was easy for her to tell when one was telling an untruth or keeping something from her. His aura blinked lightly with black, indicating the untruth but returned quickly to its pure light sparkling dark gold color. She had not seen to many humans but the aura was very pure, a very kind and but weak human, easily trampled.
Victoria looked at the man and had a small thought.
I could easily kill him if he's up to something bad, but there's no point either.
Victoria did not care.
Let the man have his silly secrets, so long as he did the work she paid him to it did not matter to her.
The carriage bumped and she sighed wanting to go back to sleep.
It did not take as long as Victoria would have assumed to make it to the capital. Bother her and Sterling left the carriage to walk around. Sterling grabbed his straws from the carriage and quickly went to go sell it at a stall while she waited off by a building.
A few men that were off near another stall were eyeing her.
She assumed they did not like a demon among them in broad daylight and gingerly touched her horns on top of her head.
Sterling came back over and gave her a bright smile which stunned her for a moment.
She blinked at him in confusion.
“Did you finish selling your merchandise?” She asked.
He nodded.
“Good let us-” She said as she started to turn away and ran into one of the men that had been staring at her.
The man gave her a toothy grin as she backed up.
She winced as she tried to remember how to apologize.
“Sterling can you tell him I am sorry for running into him?”
Sterling blinked at her but nodded and translated for her.
The man cocked his head and looked back down at her. He said some random things she couldn't understand and cocked her head at him in confusion.
She looked over to Sterling who had a flushed but outraged face.
“What did he say?” She asked.
“....He wanted to know how much a night with you would cost….” Sterling said slowly.
Victoria looked back up at the man and raised an eyebrow at him.
“Tell him it will only cost him his immortal soul.” Victoria grinned at the man, feeling a tad bit angry.
Sterling puckered his lips but nodded while seeming to be trying not to laugh as he translated.
The man frowned for a second before his face turned angry and he turned away to leave.
Victoria smiled and waved at his retreating form, feeling victorious.
