Jacob stared at the broken glass on the ground. He smiled bitterly and stepped in them, making his way out of the room and house. Jacob knew that it was dangerous to leave but he didn't give a damn. He walked into the fields and sat down hearing yelling for him.
It all seemed to go away as the world turned dark. Jacob counted the stars and waited until his lover calmed down. He knew he should leave, but this is the only way that Kyle would live. He stared at the ground after awhile. Jacob stopped crying after he learned it upset Kyle and he didn't want that.
He knew Kyle cheated on him but who gives a damn. As long as his lover was alive he was happy. Jacob stood up and walked back to the worn down house. "JACOB." A voice bellowed at him as he moved past the shard of glass on the ground. He looked up to see Kyle.
"Ah. Hi Kyle.." He said quietly and tried to move past him. "Why the hell did you leave?" He snarled and pushed Jacob into the wall. Jacob just stared lifelessly at him. "I asked you a question fag." Kyle growled and pressed his fingers to Jacob's throat. Jacob whimpered and Kyle released him.
He fell into the pile of glass shards as Kyle slammed the door and left. He quickly got up and started cleaning the place. He cleaned the wounds and fell asleep in the old bed. Jacob woke up and grabbed his school bag, hiding the bruises and cuts. He amazingly wasn't dead and didn't feel like dying today.
Jacob left with a heavy heart as he always did. His shoes and clothes were worn down and he slowly walked to the modern school. It was full of people as he scurried to the classroom. The teacher took in his face and pulled him aside. "Jacob, are you being abused by your father?" She asked and Jacob shook his head.
"No." He said stiffly. It was the truth after all. He walked away from her and sat in the corner of the classroom as he always did. The day went slowly and he ended up being cornered by two students. "Look at the queer." They said and pushed him against the locker.
He stifled back a hiss of pain as they hit the cuts on his arms and legs. He ran, the only the was able to do. Jacob heard them yelling as he sprinted to the house. He shut the door and heavily panted, out of breath. Kyle stood in the small living room with a look of anger on his face.
"I got a call today." He said calmly, his breath stinking of alcohol. "Said you had a bruise on your face. You fucking fag, you told them didn't you." He said his voice getting louder and louder. Jacob shook his head as Kyle moved closer. Jacob twisted the doorknob and ran out, sprinting back the way he came.
Kyle screamed at him and Jacob knew he couldn't go back. He sobbed as his feet took him back to the field. He fell, shaking and stared at the sky. It was dark and it was starting to rain already. His hair was plastered against his face as the heavens opened. He slowly stood up and trudged to the school.
Jacob stared at the building and lowered his head, sitting on a bench to keep himself from getting more wet. The teacher stepped out, heading home and spotted him. "J- Jacob.. are you ok?" She asked, quickly going over to him. He stared at her blankly and flinched as she reached a hand out.
"Here, let me take you to the hospital. You are bleeding." She said and he shook his head. "Then he will find me.." Jacob whispered and her face turned to understanding. "I'll take you home with me ok. He can't hurt you when you are with me." He stood up and winced as the pain finally registered. He followed her to the car and went to her home.
Her wife was shocked but quickly helped him into the bathroom, drying him off and mending his cuts. She quietly worked as the teacher looked at him with worried eyes. They finished and had him change into clothes. He came out and they sat him down.
"Jacob.. why were you out there?" The teacher asked softly and he broke down. "- I hav- had a boyfriend and he- he.." He couldn't finish as his voice failed him. The two nodded. "Well you can stay with us." He nodded and followed her to his room. He curled up on the bed and fell asleep.
