Chapter One:
King Amadeus I
The bright golden sun slowly rose over the kingdom of Mirbilia, the castle sat quietly under the bright golden ball as people roamed the streets of the large capital. The castle stood tall as the sun stood directly above it, the ocean waves hitting the sand that stood behind it, and dragging the sand into the crystal blue ocean. Horses, and carts road around the long roads as they filled the city as well.
Inside the castle, sat a large throne, with a smaller throne next to it, the thrones were both a golden color, and a red silk carpet led to them. Slowly, a door opened as two men walked out of a dining area, one of the men had short neat brown hair, a clean-shaven face, and brown eyes, he was fairly large, but most of it was muscle, the man stood at about 5'11, and wore a dark red robe that was custom made, and a symbol of a Phoenix sat on his back, this man was King Amadeus I, the King of Tellus. "Sir, you've called for a meeting between the houses, I told the messenger to send word, they will all be attending." The other man replied, he was much older and smaller, he was fairly skinny, and stood at about 5'5, he looked to be about 60, his hair was white, his eyes blue, and he wore a brown robe.
"Thank you, Tomas," Amadeus replied as he looked towards the two thrones for a moment, his eyes watching them closely as Tomas stood next to him. "Prince Amadeus is with Leonard and Talin," Tomas said quietly as Amadeus I looked at him for a moment. "Good, I suppose I should prepare for the event today." He said quietly, as Tomas nodded. "Your clothes are in your room I believe, I'll go and get the Queen, your Majesty," Tomas said as Amadeus smiled at him. "There's no need, she's still asleep I'll awaken her," Amadeus said as Tomas nodded and slowly left.
Amadeus made his way through the long hallways of the castle, he would pass by three rooms before approaching a large door as he opened it and stepped inside into his room. "I didn't expect you to be back already." A voice said as Amadeus turned to see his wife in the bed, her body under the covers as he smiled softly. "I came to get changed, I was warned about something that happened in the south." He said quietly, his wife's blue eyes looking into his brown ones as she slowly wrapped the covers around her naked body and stood up as she made her way towards him and stopped in front of him. "What happened?" She asked as she looked up at him and looked deeper into his eyes as Amadeus looked back into her's. "There was an attack, two men were killed, one man was fatally wounded. Nobody knows what the cause of the attack was." He said quietly as she slowly moved her hand up and towards his face, her hand resting on his cheek as she looked at him.
"Do you think it's what people talked about in the children stories?" She asked as Amadeus looked down towards her for a moment, his brown eyes glancing away for a moment as he let out a small sigh and slowly shook his head. "No, I don't think it's an ancient story coming true." He said quietly giving a small and brief chuckle as he could see his wife slowly look away from him as she turned around. "There is something I should tell you, later." She said quietly as she slowly looked back at him and he nodded. "You should go back to sleep, I didn't mean to worry you." He said quietly before he went to change into his royal clothing as his wife lay back down and he soon walked out of the room and headed towards the throne room.
He slowly entered the throne room as he approached his throne, he would fix the cuffs of the orange and red robes as he slowly sat down, his eyes would look towards the door as he adjusted himself and slowly got comfortable. "Your Majesty." A voice slowly said as Amadeus turned to see his leading general, his smartest strategist, and his right-hand man. "General Storm, I assume you've heard about the attack?" Amadeus asked as the general nodded before approaching. "Yes, I wanted to speak to you about the attack. Perhaps we should send some men, help with repairs and provide reinforcements to the base." His general suggested as Amadeus slowly stood up and approached him.
"I agree, but we should send one of the generals there as well, tell him to obey and work alongside Commander Kyrin," Amadeus suggested as he watched Storm scratch his short blonde beard and thought about it. "I will send General Barley out tomorrow, tell him to ride south and help out with a group of men. It'll take them a few weeks, maybe even a month or so but they'll help out as much as they can." Storm told him as Amadeus placed his hand on Storm's shoulder and looked him in the eyes. "Thank you, you're a good friend." He said quietly as Storm looked at him briefly before starting to speak again. "I have a request I would like to talk to you about if you don't mind." Storm said as Amadeus turned and sat back down on his throne and nodded.
"Go on and speak my friend," Amadeus told him as he gave a brief smile and Storm slowly stepped forward. "I've been your leading general for a while, and you've allowed me to come in and speak in meetings, you consider me your right-hand man and your friend. I'd like to ask for a place in your counsel." Storm told him as Amadeus slowly smiled, he would soon slowly nod. "I was waiting for you to ask, I'll give you a spot. A new one, never been done before. You'll play a role as my advisor and lead Commander." Amadeus said as Storm slowly knelt down and Amadeus stood up. "Thank you, my king." He said quietly before he would stand up and exit the throne room.
Amadeus would slowly walk through the halls of the castle, he would make his way towards a backdoor as he opened it to enter a large garden. "Dad!" A young voice yelled out as his youngest son Talin ran up to him and hugged him, Amadeus would quickly pick the young boy up as he held him in his arms. "Where're your brothers?" He asked as the three-year-old slowly turned his head. "They're over there." He said pointing as Amadeus walked towards where the other two boys were sitting as he set Talin down.
"You two seem to be enjoying the day." He said quietly as his two sons turned to look at him, Leonard was about seven, and his oldest Prince Amadeus was ten. "Dad!" Leonard yelled out as he jumped up and hugged his father, Amadeus would pat him on the back as he looked towards his oldest son. "You three woke up early," Amadeus said as his oldest son nodded and stood up as he approached him. "We were coming outside to play." His son told him as Amadeus patted his head for a moment with a smile. "Well, I've called for a meeting between all the kingdoms, in a few weeks you can see the boats and everything arrive." He told them as Amadeus slowly sat down and his three kids sat next to him.
"Father, can you tell us a story?" Talin asked as Amadeus ran a hand over his face before slowly nodded. "All right, I'll tell you all a story, one I haven't told since you were a baby," Amadeus said as he looked at his oldest son before he smiled. "There once was a king in Tellus, his family ruled before ours ever did. They ruled in the South, beyond the mountains and into the lands where no one enters." He said as his kids listened to the story and he moved forward for a moment as he looked down at all of them. "The man dreamt of power, and he wanted to live forever. So, one day he sacrificed everything and everyone and went insane, he tried to track down witches and perform rituals so that he could live forever, and soon the dragons that he had gone evil too and he couldn't control them, they burned everything and it started a war." Amadeus said as he slowly stood back up.
"All of the kingdoms joined together to fight against him and we eventually won, and our family took control of the kingdom and the old King is believed to have died along with all the ancient animals of all the houses." Amadeus finished as Leonard stood up. "Is that true?!? Were there really dragons?!?" He asked as Prince Amadeus looked at him and shook his head. "No, it's just a story, right father?" He asked as King Amadeus slowly gave a brief and small smile. "I don't know, maybe but I believe it was and just is a simple story. Some of it may have been true, but I don't know about dragons and such." He said quietly as he looked at his three kids. "You three go off and play, I should get back to work." He said as he made his way out of the garden, and his three sons went off to play once more.
King Amadeus would make his way through the castle once more as he made his way up a set of stairs and towards the second level of the castle as he approached a glass door and adjusted his clothes. "Time to allow them to see their king." He said quietly with a brief smile as he approached the door and slowly opened it to step outside as he walked onto a balcony as he overlooked the large city and saw many people walking and talking in the streets, some of them riding on horseback as he smiled for a brief moment. "Just a few weeks or so and we can discuss what happened and discuss everything else we need to talk about." He said quietly to himself as gripped the railing and closed his eyes tightly. "Prince Amadeus will be a great king one day, I beg to all God's that whatever threat attacked The Mountains that it won't come here and everything and everyone will be okay." He said quietly as he looked down, he didn't want to admit it but he was scared of whatever could and possibly was coming. "Let them live." He said as he slowly saw people begin to enter the palace and begin to greet him as he knew that for today at least, everything and everyone was safe.
