1969, Lady Canada was invited into the NASA's Space Shuttle program. During her internship, she had begun development of a large scale robotic arm to be used on board space shuttles, as means to manipulate and or repair the shuttle exterior. Lady Canada built two models, Canadarm1 is currently in the Canadian and Aviation Space Museum in Ottawa; Canadarm2 was sent to be installed onto the International Space Station and was first controlled by Commander Chris Hadfield in 2001.
