Ok, so this one has been edited. Characters talked too much. I fixed it. If you want to know why (from a writing perspective) I changed it, see below.
WRITING REASONS WHY:
Originally, I had Nate justifying the health effects of marijuana on his body by comparing them to those of tobacco, even though they're both horrible for you. The scenes original intent was to show that Nate A) is confrontational (passive-aggressively), B) justifies things to himself and others using flawed logic, and C) is an asshole. But, show don't tell, huge rule of comicking. I can get the same ideas across, be less abrasive, and keep better in line with Nate's character by doing the scene this way, without a huge soapbox rant. You've got a whole book to meet this guy, it was my inadequate writing that had him talking so much about bullshit instead of showing him act/react to things. ALSO, SINCE IT'S SO CLOSE TO THE BEGINNING OF THE BOOK, it made it look like this was gonna be a WEED BOOK, or some shit. Or focused on marijuana. Don't get it twisted, marijuana's all over the place; it's just not a big deal, and my fucking bad writMY FUCKING BAD WRITING made it look like it was going to appear that way in this book. FIXED IT. *hnnggghhh*
