Hi. Welcome to the Heartbreak Hotel comic.

Before I get a comment of any sort, I want to clear up a few things. First: yes, I know. There was a song called Heartbreak Hotel. Since that is a famous song made up a long time ago and this is an ultra-obscure webcomic, I don't think anybody will be confused or upset by the name clone.

Second: the art's not that good here. Or at least, that's what it looks like. Normally, I never ever use pencils and white paper to draw comics for the main part of a series, but recently I realized that it'd look pretty cool to have comics in a scanned-pencil-paper technique instead of my usual Flash method. It means I'm not drawing as well as I did back in the Crack Putty days, but Crack Putty Main can't make this effect. The truth is that I'm not doing this because I think my comic (you'll see humans next page, they're really not-perfect) is something that will appeal to other people and entertain them - I'm doing it because it appeals to me. I love the idea of this comic existing lately. I had that slightly venty idea recently while depressed, and now I've decided to grab it and run with it - even though my mood has improved. If you don't want to read this, it's alright. It's definitely my own solace more than anybody else's, though if you like what you see, by all means lounge around and mope with us. This is going to be an angsty and moody comic relying on stylistic visuals, cute panoramas, and atmosphere. Normally I hate dark and gritty, but for webcomics like 1/0 or Goats, I love it.

This comic wasn't intended for reading on all-white site backdrops. If you think it'd help to have gloomier page colours for this series, I recommend it. Install the Stylus extension in your browser and get a Tapas userstyle to have it more fitting for a depressing lie-about comic like this one. I plan on making my own official userstyle for it later.

Enough yammering from me, here it is. Tomorrow, the story starts developing.
