I need to get my camera. Even if it is the last thing I do.
Of course, barging out of Mother's funeral wasn't on my bucket list, but it had to be done. I need to capture today's perfection. Maybe, I can even show them, I wonder if they would relish it as much as I would. But not like that matters. The only thing that matters is that I need my camera. If this day goes without being ensnared in my camera lens then I would not die a happy man. But, it depends... was I ever content, to begin with? Well, today definitely made me think so. I would never achieve true delight until I take a picture of Mother's elegantly fallen face. Perhaps I should have kissed her hand as a way of saying goodbye, maybe even murmur it in her ear. To bad, she didn't give up her body to science. I know that we would have had a field trip.
Not as many people were... handing over their corpses for research. Even an organ or two would be appreciated.
People these days are so stingy.
It's a pity really. As of now, today has been pleasurably morose, but there's been no one of interest of late. Expect the man with dead caterpillars for facial hair. Other than that... nothing. No exposed scars or wounds. No broken bones or fractured skulls. Even the dead are better company. Even more amusing than those around me. Yes, they are all adorned in black and tear-streaked faces, but it's getting old.
I knew I would be spoiled rotten by Mother's passing.
Strolling around the cemetery grounds looking for the gate out, which is very unusual for me, the atmosphere was dead as the rain poured down more heavily. Soaking my funeral attire. I wonder if they will cover Mother with cold soil before I get back. That would be unfortunate, especially since I'm her son. Nothing more, nothing less. That would ruin today and it's already been going downhill since no one has piqued my excitement, just yet. Oh, what has a man got to do to find something to amuse them. Well, this is a cemetery... Perhaps I should come back with a shovel as well as my camera.
As some time went by, I could feel a chill creep up my spine, which hasn't happened in a while. Now, this is arousing my interest. Maybe the rest of the day won't be as dull as I thought it would be.
