“The first day is usually a small celebration.” I told her while buying the dresses, she did not need something extravagant she needed a simple dress.
Unlike blue weddings that usually required lavish designs or some famous designers’ dress.
I called Olive; Emerald’s sister I told her that I needed help and she mocked me “for YOUR FRIEND” She stressed on the words.” Yes, for her” I told her.
Olive basically took Leila and disappeared she told me to get ready and help Varden instead of waiting and that I will see her in the wedding anyway.
We prepared for the wedding and finished all the requirements weeks ago. There was not much to do, I went to Varden to see how he was holding up after all; it was his big night.
“How are you holding up man?” I barged into his apartment
“I don’t know” standing in front of the mirror dressed up in his white suit
“You love her don’t you?” I asked leaning on the room’s door.
“More than I thought I was capable of” he turned back to me
“Then don’t you ever hesitate in showing it” I smiled.
Varden smiled at me “You always know the right thing to say don’t you?”
“Sure Cos. I do” I said in a funny accent.
The first Celebration was in the town square, it would be for all the people living in town everyone would come to celebrate or congratulate them.
The streets would be decorated and a band would play in the streets all night. And the people would bring different type of dishes and share with each other.
In an open air Banquet, It was Tradition every wedding would start like that.
We arrived right on time. I was sure he loved her from the way his eyes lit up when he saw her. I knew at that moment that whatever hesitation or radical thoughts disappeared in that exact moment, He was sure.
My Sweet Emerald looked bedazzling in a simple dress, colourful and refreshing.
There she stood with a strand of green and a new hair cut with a stunning dress.
“Miss, You are looking Stunning tonight, if I was single I wouldn’t had let you go” I winked at her.
“Well I don’t think my heart was more devastated because I lost such an opportunity” She smiled and her eyes closed slightly.
She approached me and whispered “Good thing I was not too late or I would have probably attended your wedding”.
“I think you will probably attend it but as my bride” I whispered back.
The Celebration Started with A toast, mine to be exact. “Tonight we are all here to Celebrate the wedding of Varden and Emerald but I wanted to tell them just how I feel”.
I looked at both of them “My life was a mess until I came here and both of you were like the family I never had, You accepted me and coloured me with Your colours and I am more than delighted and happy for both of You, May you live a long happy life.”
The music played and they all started dancing.
“Would you join me for a dance, Sweetheart?” I offered my hand to her after I handed in the mic.
“It would be my pleasure” those dimples smiling at me once again.
