"Project Calibre." Slinky said.

"This machine was the key to our success." He said as he walked around to the side. 

He proceeded to press some buttons and the machine roared to life. 

"How does it work?" Theo said. 

Slinky explained "When I give the signal, walk through the front and wait until the arch glows. Then you can walk through and out the back."

 Being impatient, Theo scrambled to the front and said "Alright! Me first!" 

Theo walked through and, after a moment, walked out the other side seeming indifferent. 

"I don't feel anything, Mr. Slinky." Theo sadly said. 

Reassuringly Slinky said "Don't worry you do have powers. You're just going to have to figure out what they are. Ok Kate your next." 

Kate slowly walked up to the machine and said "I'm kinda scared but if it means getting powers then let's do it."

 Kate strolled into the machine just as Theo did and she too walked out the other end. 

Smiling ear to ear she said, "Dad, I-I did it!" 

"Good for you sweetie. I hope that whatever powers you have will make you happy and will benefit the people. Now you two run along and defeat evil for us older folk that can't put on our small capes anymore."

With powers inside them, Theo and Kate began to bring justice and defeat the evil that abounded in the absence of the legendary heroes.

 A week later, they were still figuring out what their powers were when they were taking care of a criminal on the street.

"Theo! I got him! Quick get the cuffs!" Kate yelled. 

"Gotcha! Here ya go!" Theo said. 

Kate's determination then turned to disappointment when Theo handed her noodle cuffs. "How many times do I have to tell you? Just because the bad guy is gluten intolerant doesn't mean they can't touch pasta. Plus this guy says he CAN eat pasta. And you know it'll just break so just throw those away already." 

Theo snarkily said, "Aw come on are calling this guy an impasta?!" 

Kate groaned at the silly joke. Just then noodles came out of Kate's hands. 

"Aaaahhhh!" Kate screamed. 

"What's going on? How did that happen!?" Theo said as he was getting excited and not at all concerned about how Kate was feeling at the moment. 

Then Theo had an idea. 

"Were you thinking about noodles just then?" He asked.

Kate now recomposing herself said, "Y-yeah I was h-hungry." 

Theo then said, "Try thinking of something else." 

Kate began to focus and out of nowhere, real handcuffs appeared.

Both of them now amazed said "Wooooaaaahhh!" 

"I have the coolest powers!" Kate said as she jumped up and down.

A few days later…

Theo approached Kate and said "Uh, hey, Kate. I think I've figured out my powers."
