Lain and her group slept not even knowing they were being watched. One of
the men seemed annoyed looking to Lain.
“Are you sure that she is the one the seer saw in her vision? She looks like
a slut to me.”
The man next to him grabbed his throat growling.
“Don’t question the seer. You know her visions are never wrong. If it
wasn’t for her linage we would have all be killed long ago or enslaved.”
He let go of the other man just watching Lain’s group. Their group heads
back. They walked to a huge tree pushing a small spot on the base of the
truck which opens a door.
Once through a small city is in their eye sight. The men go to a small house
reporting their findings. A woman smiles sitting in a chair that looked from
ancient times.
“I’m glad she has finally made it this far. She will have a hard journey ahead
of her. When the time comes we will help her out. From this day on we will
wait to see what she will do. Everything is intertwined with Lain’s fate.”
The man who called her a slut scuffed some. The old woman moves in a flash
slashing his face with her nails.
“Don’t forget that there is far worse things then you in this world. If you
try to do anything stupid I will kill you myself.”
The man fell over onto his butt just looking dumbfounded. The seer was
known as a Vampire in ancient times. She was now just known as any other
in-human. Unlike the stories of her kind she could go in daylight, and eat
human food. That didn’t mean she wouldn’t drink blood as well. Plus her life
span was only one hundred fifty years long. In the morning Lain awoke
before the others. She made sure to get water from the river. Kibo woke next
then poked Bren till he finally woke up. He sat there staring to her with a
groggy look.
“Couldn’t you let me sleep a little longer Kibo?”
She smiled shaking her head. He stretched getting up as wrapping and arm
around her waist. Kibo was surprised when bren twirled her around. He
laughed a little putting her back on the ground. They caught back up with
Lain starting off on their journey once more. They walked over a month
avoiding all the cities till their supplies ran out.
Lain caved when she examined a map showing the city of Vega was close. It
was well known for having their flying vechiles even in the slums. When they
approached the gate Kibo grabbed Lain’s hand. She was a little scared but
didn’t want to show it. Bren and Lain smiled to her and holding her hands.
The gate looked just like all the others but you could already see the flying
vechiles. Bren’s jaw dropped when he saw a man riding a board in the air. It
was shock and awe at the same time.
“Perhaps they will sell something like that to us. If they do I will buy it for
you.”
Bren tackled Lain in a hug.
“Thank you so much!”
I couldn’t help but to laugh at his excitement. The guard at the gate looked
to us with a raised brow.
“Are they your children?”
I let out a sigh...I really didn’t think they would ask me that.
“Yes, I adopted them both.”
Bren and Kibo smiled almost ear to ear at my words. They really knew how
to play at my heart strings.
The guard gave a faint smile handing us our bracelets. It kind of threw me off
that is wasn’t being rude. As we walked through the gate the wave hit us that
dampened us. I felt sick to my stomach like last time but didn’t let it stop us.
I pull the kids along with me as we walk through the streets exploring for a
while. This place was amazing. It almost reminded me of the vision the wolf
let me see. Except that there slaves in this version of the place. We walk to
the Inn that allowed in-humans getting a room. I didn’t want separate rooms
in case something happened and we needed to leave fast.
