“Let him go right now!” ordered Miue, pointing the barrel of his rifle right at M0’s head while Mizusaki positioned himself on the opposite side and did the same.
M0 maintained his sat down position on top of Ikusaki’s torso, expressionlessly staring to the soldier underneath him. His grey eyes skirted around every single inch of Ikusaki’s face and then he tilted his head to the left. M0 pressed the palms his hands on the floor, siding Ikusaki’s head with them, and closed the distance between their faces. “…Ikusaki Shouichi.”
“E-Eh…?” interjected Ikusaki, trying not to move even an inch due to the close proximity between his body and M0’s. Not that he actually could, with the heaviness pinning him down to the floor.
M0 lifted his head, keeping both of his hands on the floor, and looked to the left and then to the right, closely observing both soldiers pointing their weapons in his direction. He tilted his head once again. “Miue Satoshi… Mizusaki Shinobu…”
“Great, another one that knows our names…” cursed Miue under his breath as he tightened his grip to the rifle and put the barrel closer to M0’s head. He still remembered quite clearly what had happened when they had been in the presence of a target that knew about them. “Slowly release him and we won’t shoot agains—“
With a quick movement to his legs, M0 got out from on top of Ikusaki’s torso by making a frontal handspring, silently landing on his feet and then propelling his body once more in the air, rotating it in an extremely fast-paced front flip. When he landed on the floor for the second time, his feet sank down on the floor, large cracks all around the surface.
“Ah… Fuck, we can’t let him run off!” yelled Miue after breaking out of the spell of how beautifully and fluently M0’s small body moved. When the target bolted out of the cell, Miue threw a quick glance at Ikusaki, who was already getting up on his feet once again, and both Mizusaki and he immediately started chasing after the target. However, M0 was far too quick for them to pick up his pace. “Mizusaki, shoot however you want. We have to stop him and restrain him ASAP! If he’s like M1, then all of us will have closed casket funerals tomorrow!”
“Yes, sir!” acknowledged Mizusaki, taking aim at the target and pulling the trigger multiple times. M0 smoothly avoided all of the bullets sent his way by constantly moving sideways in the midst of his extremely fast-paced running. “Damn it, he’s quick as hell! I won’t be able to hit him like that!”
“Let’s slow him down a notch, then,” announced Miue, motioning one of his hands to the pouch on his lower back and taking from there a hand grenade. With the help of his teeth, he pulled the safety pin and immediately threw it in M0’s direction – though he was quite far ahead of them on the path, he was still within the range of being hit by the grenade or, if they weren’t on that lucky of a day, throw him off balance on his sprint.
M0 gave a quick jump and spun his body around, giving a tap with the palm of his right hand to the grenade and causing it to fly off to outside of the illuminated path with triple the speed that it had initially. A few seconds later, the explosion occurred, shaking and illuminating the entire floor for brief seconds.
“Holy crap,” incredulously gasped Miue, his eyes open wide at what he had just witnessed. If M0 had made the smallest of miscalculations or hit the hand grenade on the wrong place, half of his body would have been blown up right there and then. He threw a sideways glance and saw that Ikusaki had reached the same spot they were currently crossing and was almost about to run ahead of them.
“Did you see that?” asked Ikusaki, looking over to his two squad members while decelerating a little bit to be able to run alongside them.
“It happened right before our eyes! Of course we did!” answered Miue, preparing his rifle to try and shoot at the target yet again.
“Not that,” said Ikusaki while also aiming his handguns at M0. He fired a few shots, the target skillfully avoiding both his and the other soldiers’ bullets. “When he got out of on top of me, he… He was freaking smiling! He was smiling as if his deepest wish had just been granted with our arrival!”
“What…?” interjected Mizusaki, glancing sideways at Ikusaki with his eyebrow slightly arched. He was about to ask Ikusaki what he meant by that but when he saw the current location of the target, he ended up saying something completely different. “Fuck, he has reached the door! We closed the door behind us but the lock is completely useless now. He’s going to enter inside of the service stairs!”
“Shit…!” cursed Ikusaki, giving a boost to his sprinting speed and running ahead of his squadmates. He needed to reach M0’s location as soon as possible. If he didn’t… Once he saw M0 standing in front of the door, not doing any attempts to open it, he yelled, “M0! Stop right there!”
M0 threw a quick glance over his shoulder and then returned his gaze back to the door. He gave a few steps to the side and lifted one of his closed fists up in the air. With a quick motion, he punched the wall and a huge hole appeared in its surface, M0 quickly disappearing inside of the service stairs.
“Doesn’t he know how to open—“ started grumbling Ikusaki as he accelerated his pace even further but interrupted himself in midsentence at a sudden realization. “Shit… He didn’t need any code on his cell because he doesn’t know how doors work…”
-.-
Murayama continuously kept all five targets under his gaze, still pressing the barrel of his handgun against M1’s head. He focused his gaze momentarily on the target being attended to by Kinjou, who anxiously tapped his foot on the floor. “Hey, Kinjou! Where did you get that straight jacket from?”
“He was already using it when we opened his cell,” answered Kinjou, looking over to Murayama while keeping his rifle pointed in M3’s direction. “His cell was a freakish sight. He was being tied down to the floor with titanium chains linked to the walls and then to the ceiling. On the chains were a fuck load of bombs.”
“Yeah, I got a piece of that myself,” acknowledged Murayama, looking once again to M1. He was about to talk when M5 started to loudly squeal at the same time as Mizusaki’s voice started resounding on the communication device strapped to his ear.
“He’s coming!!! He’s coming!!!” yelled M5 with an excited voice, jumping up and down on the same spot. “M0! M0! He’s coming! M0! M0! M0!!!!!”
“Murayama-san! M0 has accessed the service stairs – ALONE! He’s currently running at full speed in your direction. We’re trying to catch up with him but he’s fast as hell! He’ll reach the main hall any second!”
“What!?” interjected Murayama, as soon as Mizusaki finished his report, one that housed terrible news for their side. He gave a quick glance in the service stairs’ door’s direction but was forced to look right back to the target appointed to him when M1 suddenly started walking away. “M1! Stay put!”
M1 completely ignored the orders being thrown at him by the human soldier and the countless weapons that were readily aimed at him. It didn’t matter. None of those weapons mattered right now. He was finally about to meet his beloved ‘Beatrice’ so nothing else mattered at the moment.
All of a sudden, a huge hole appeared in the wall, right beside the door that connected to the stairs. M1 immediately broke the handcuffs restraining his wrists when he saw a small male stepping on the rumble that had been created when the wall was partially demolished.
“Come,” gently said M1, opening his arms wide while lovingly peering at the small male.
“Ah…” M0 looked right away to the centre of the main hall, observing the bright smile on the M5’s face, M4 and his lips with a soft upturn on the corners, M3 with a satisfied grin on his face, M2’s large eyes shining with enthusiasm… and the gentle smile occupying M1’s features.
Without a second thought, M0 kicked the pile of rubble he was on top of and jumped high in the air, falling right in M1’s arms at the same time he wrapped his arms around his back, just like M1 was doing in return. With the impact of the joining, their bodies fell to the floor and sank down a few inches on it, a crater formed around their hugging form.
All soldiers present in that room looked at the two targets with flabbergasted expressions, their weapons aimed at them. None of them could understand what was happening right now.
M1 shifted his arm against M0’s back and softly ran his fingers through his hair. At the touch, M0 lifted his face from the other male’s chest and looked straight into his eyes. The smile present in M1’s face widened and he softly whispered as they softly bumped their foreheads, “Nice to meet you, Rei.”
“Nice to meet you too, Iru-kun,” softly whispered M0 back.
M1 fully took his arms from around M0’s back and motioned his hands up to his face, softly caressing M0’s pale cheeks with his thumbs. He motioned his head up from the floor while leading M0’s face in his direction, the two of them softly locking their lips in a gentle kiss.
