Peter drove CJ down the road. The entire ride was silent, but something was bothering him. He knew that she wasn't exactly calm after what happened. So, he tried to reassure and ease her mind.
"Your friend's gonna be fine but, I wouldn't bring any of it up, tomorrow....if I were you." He said.
"Well you're not me--I'm not rude like you." She said snobbishly, he laughed again.
"Okay! You're VERY nice and refined, just a good girl. Not violent at ALL." he was being sarcastic; she kicked him in the leg.
"Hey!" he pulled over; there was a sound of tires skidding
He was angry. "Look, I don't hurt or hit girls! So DON'T hit me. I'd LIKE to hit you back for my previous wounds, but I wasn't raised like that. So do me a favor, I don't hit you--so you don't hit me, got it?" he said
"What if you're bein' stupid or somethin'?" she asked
"Then tell me that....NO hitting." He explained
She scoffed. "That doesn't work for me, all my power's in my FISTS!" she posed as that of an athlete.
"You call those muscles?" he posed the same, and flexed harder. "THESE are muscles." he said, she blushed
[Wow! C-Change subject!] She thought
"Uh...I'm gonna be even MORE late, if you don't step on it, Pretty Boy." she said
"So, you think I'm pretty, huh?" He said, and pulled off.
"Ugh! Shut up, or I'll hit you." she said
"Do it, and I'll pull over again, Girlie." he disciplined
"CJ! It's CJ, what's so hard about that!?" she kicked him, he pulled over, as promised. She continued with her blows.
He grabbed her wrists, and pulled her close.
The closeness made her face hot."Y-You keep, callin' me Girlie, I'm gonna start callin' YOU Pretty Boy!" she said
He felt strange. There was something about her, being with her that made him feel flushed. "Uh...you're doin' that glowing thing." He said
"You too." She avoided his gaze. "Now let go, please! I DON'T like this." She pleaded
"Don't like what?" he inquired, she tore away from his gaze.
"This! I don't like bein' defenseless and helpless. I-I won't hit you again." She said.
Peter was stunned by this news. In his mind, she was rude, outspoken, and somewhat violent. But, he saw another part; vulnerable and pathetic. He found it somewhat adorable, even attractive, until she got impatient.
"Let me go, PERV!" she yelled, he released her. She slapped him
"Hey! What did I JUST say?" he yelled
"Oh! Does slapping count, too? Uh, sorry Pretty Boy." she said, he groaned and steered the car back onto the road.
They were nearly there, her house was in the distance, and he pulled around to the back of it.
CJ got out and walked around to him. "Thanks for savin' me....again, and for helping Doug." She said and headed to the front of her house.
"Hey! Look, I'm sorr-- I didn't mean to make you cry and junk! So TRY not to need savin' and bein defenseless next time, okay? Good, night CJ." he said, she was surprised
"You called me, CJ." She said, he was aloof with a smile.
"That's your name right?" he asked, and pulled off. She watched him drive further away and smiled.
"You're really are stupid...Peter." She said and went inside.
Jonathan Davies was on the trial stand, along with his Major, Piper Fuller. They were wearing their Informer uniforms. They were briefing them on her meeting with Sebastian, Bryce, and Heidi. John was confident, and kept calm; his sister being apart of the Judges Stand didn't faze him the slightest bit. He was in charge of choosing missions, training, and preparing all members of his battalion. Piper was skilled in many areas, but she excelled most in facts.
"As I've stated, Officials, Sebastian Talbot knows as much as you all do. He is awaiting your verdicts, however concerned about the girl, Cicely Dixon. Daughter of the late Patrice Hayes, and the Quondam, Malcolm Dixon." She said, Valerie twitched at those facts, and rose to her feet.
[State the facts... AND new information.] She thought
"Informers, Cicely Dixon is the one variable we all share in common. She is tied to the Veer, Peter Talbot, and is the main focus of Charles Mathis, we are not sure why that is, unfortunately, but you will be briefed on the subject beforehand. We will also deal with the alleged misdemeanors of one Abigail Forrest." She said, the Informers were in shock. They had no idea that CJ and Charles Mathis were connected in any way. Valerie and her partners retreated from the Stand.
Hours later, Valerie and Keith Nie were entertaining themselves. They were keeping their relationship a secret, from everyone. Being with him made her happy, and safe. She only wanted it private to spare his son and her job. She was content, but always worried that her ex-husband would find her; she lived with this fear every day.
