It wasn't even an own thought. There was a commercial on TV about how to save up for your pension so you could throw loafs instead of crumbs of bread if you save your money in the right place.
When I moved back from London to Sweden and had TV again, the first thing I watched was commercials. Commercials are a window into our own time, I guess. What's hot? What's popular? And so on.
