Max was just your typical college student. He went to class kept up with his work and never skipped but he also doesn’t have any friends and he doesn’t like partying.
He’d rather stay at his dorm doing homework or binge watching a good anime than getting shitfaced like everyone else. He never really had any friends growing up and since there wasn’t anyone to stand up for him at school he was bullied.
He was bullied for stupid things like his height, his hair because he liked it long, or even the fact that he did his work and had straight A’s. People were harsh back then but compared to now they were even worse. He hated leaving his dorm because it was like a safe haven.
“Ugh, I have to get more food.” He said stretching in his desk chair. He forgot to get enough food for the week the last time he was out. And Max tends to binge eat when he’s watching his shows or doing work. Thankfully he had a high metabolism or he would be featured on “My 600 Pound Life” by the time he graduated high school.
“Thank god nobody else stays here.” Max was one of those lucky students who were supposed to have a roommate but didn’t because they dropped out the first day of class.
~The story is changing to first person point of view~
It was nice not having a roommate because I could just be myself and do whatever I wanted to. I didn’t have to worry about anyone judging me for being who I am.
I grabbed my wallet and put my sneakers on as I locked up the dorm. I walked down the long hallway to the stairs. I was always scared I would bump into someone. Well I guess I was paranoid not scared.
I let out a sigh of relief when I made it out of the guys dorm building. I didn’t see anyone. I began the short trek to the small convenience store that was three blocks away from the college.
“Hey Jake, how’s your night been?” I asked the cashier as I entered the door. I knew everyone who worked here because I tend to come here a lot.
“It’s looking up. What about you Maxi?” He said using that stupid nickname.
“I’m doing pretty good. I haven’t run into anyone from high school yet.” I said coming up to the from desk with four big packs of instant noodles along with two bags of chips and some gum. I kind of have this addiction to gum don’t ask me how but it just calms me down and I tend to go through a pack every like two days.
“That’s good. If anyone causes you any problems I’ll have Mark go and kick their ass, ‘kay.” Jake has been a really great friend to me since I moved here for college. Huh, I guess I do have a friend. And Mark is Jakes Boyfriend. They make a really cute couple, too. I’ve met Mark like two times, but he seemed like a pretty cool dude and he was huge. Over six feet, built like a bear and he was ex-military. Jake on the other hand looked like a delinquent. He had blond hair with dark blue tips and six piercings in his ears along with a nose ring.
“How has Mark been doing?” I asked leaning on the counter as he rang everything up.
“He’s been pretty good. He’s been working hard to get into the academy though.”
“Oh, he wants to be a cop, right?” I said standing back up.
“Yeah, he’s been doing pretty good though.” Jake said as he finished ringing everything up.
“Uhm” A man said from behind us. It wasn’t like a kind ‘can you hurry up?’ no it was more like ‘hurry the fuck up!’
“Sorry, I just don’t get to talk to him very often.” I said as I grabbed my stuff. An arm stopped me though.
