Jun senses were fully activated when his eyes locked on the mismatched eyes of Nari Minseo.
He didn’t know him that well except for the occasional greetings in the hallway or random group projects here and there, but this time it seemed as if his entire body was practically glowing.
Something vibrated in Jun’s chest but he ignored it refusing to look away from the teen who was now flushing red in the face and in the end it was Minseo that ended up breaking the eye contact.
Jun’s eyes still lingered on Minseo as he passed by them to move to his seat in the back of Jun’s row. It surprised him that he didn’t realize that Minseo sat directly behind him all this time, he scowled himself for not being more properly aware.
Leo’s laughing brought him out of his trance.
“Dude you literally are glaring at him! It’s like you went on a hunt and now you're skinning him alive with your eyes.”
“There’s something different about him today, Leo.” Jun muttered taking a quick glance over his shoulder, but Minseo was buried in the math workbook they worked through last class.
“What do you mean?” said Leo also looking behind Jun at the teen in the back.
“It was almost like he was a freakin light bulb that entered a darkened room,” Jun whispered back as their chemistry teacher, Mr.Mong walked in.
Leo wrinkled his nose and his eyes squinted as Jun watched patiently as he thought it out.
His eyes sparkled and he leaned closer to better whisper to Jun as Mr. Wong started to go over their Thermokinitecs paper.
“Now that you said that I kinda see what you're referring to, but to be honest with you, what threw me off was his smell.” Leo breathed as he pretended to copy down what was on the board.
“His smell? I didn’t even notice his smell.” Jun trailed off disappointed and a little irritated he didn’t pay more attention.
Some True Alpha he was.
Leo must have picked up on his negative vibes and gave his friend a shoulder pat. “It's not the end of the world if you didn't pick up his scent right away. It took me even a couple tries to see that it was coming from him.”
Jun nodded and then stuck out his hand and Leo did their signature handshake between them.
“Since I didn’t catch it before, I’ll try it now.”
“Okay, but be a little prepared Jun.” Leo sighed in relief as Mr.Wong announced he wouldn’t pick up the homework and that everyone got today points.
Jun furrowed his brow confused. “What do you mean to be prepared?”
Leo gave him a grin and whispered, “He smells really sweet and it was almost alluring. I never smelled anyone that smelled so good like that before. He smells better than the majority of the girls here.”
Jun gave him a look and Leo threw his hands up in a surrendering gesture.
“I’m not going to go all Alpha on him I promise, plus I like girls remember?” He said as he turned back to the front to grab the new worksheet that was getting passed around.
Jun rolled his eyes and scoffed before giving a light slap to the back of Leo’s head and grabbed the worksheet from him.
Closing his eyes Jun allowed his smell sense to kick into gear and gently breathed in. The first smell he picked up on was Leo’s, wrinkling his nose, it was for sure a fact his friend was a True Alpha after a wave of wood pine absorbed his sensory glands.
Opening his eyes for a second, he fought back a laugh.
“Leo my dude you freakin smell like Pinesol.”
“Hey! I like that it shows them I’m a clean person!” He said defensively as he looked over Jun’s shoulder to see his answers.
“Mr. Yang, are you ever going to do your own work?” Mr. Wong’s voice shot from the front of the classroom and Leo chuckled nervously.
“O-of course Mr. W! You know me I’m just checking my answers!”
“Oh? Then you get into the seventy range on the next test right?”
“Hahahaha, you are a very funny person Mr.W!”
Jun shook his head and closed his eyes again allowing his senses to roam the room. He ignored the smells that indicated different Alphas and Betas in the room and tried to focus on finding that sweet scent Leo mentioned.
After a couple of minutes of concentrating and searching Jun was about to give up and give Leo an earful when he jolted back into his seat. Coughing Jun opened his eyes and covered his nose quickly, his eyes almost watered and a strange feeling coursed through his body.
He quickly kicked Leo gaining his friend's attention.
“What in the world is that?” He said feeling extremely overwhelmed and confused. The smell was pleasantly sweet and Jun really had to concentrate to pick up the scent. He wanted to some reason jumps out of his seat and smell Minseo all over to fully confirm it.
Leo gave him an equal looked and shrugged his shoulders. “I’m not sure but it's probably a genetic thing, some people have stronger smells than others.”
Taking deep breaths to calm himself, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of concern and worry for the teen.
Nari Minseo smelled like an Omega.
But that couldn’t be possible, right?
For Minseo sake, Jun hoped that he was wrong this time.

Nari was completely stressed out.
Not only did he get lectured by his homeroom teacher by the end of the day and given a week of cleaning detail for next week, but he was also in the sights of Jun Byeong-Hun the entire rest of the day.
He didn’t mind the fact that his only crush was staring at him intently and following him at certain parts of the day, but he couldn’t shake the feeling that Jun managed to find something out about him he didn’t even know.
Only he hoped it was a good thing.
Smiling to himself he headed on his way over to Hei-Ran office when an unfamiliar hand placed itself on his shoulder.
He immediately reacted, grabbing the strangers wrest he flipped him over his shoulder and brought back his left hand at the ready to strike when another hand stopped him.
“Woah dude chill! You literally were about to kill someone!” A panicked voice cried from behind him.
Blinking Nari turned his head and saw a tall individual with red hair and brown eyes. He recognized the person as a member of his class and a friend of Jun’s.
His eyes widened at that thought.
He’s friends with Jun!
Nari then looked at the person he was kneeling on top of and low and behold it was the famous Jun Byeong-Hun with an amused look on his face.
“Holy crap I’m so sorry! I didn’t realize that was you, you see…!” Nari rambled on with a blush spreading across his face in embarrassment.
Jun smiled at him and brushed off his pants, “Hahaha it's okay I shouldn’t have sneaked up on you like that.”
Nari's voice caught in his throat and he stuttered trying to find the right thing to say and to not wiggled around while being in Jun’s eyesight.
Jun and his friend kindly looked at him and Nari coughed gaining some courage to speak properly.
“I’m Nari Minseo, you can call me what you like.” Nari paused for a second and looked at Jun’s eyes before looking away.
Holy hell his dangerously handsome. Do I really swing that way then? Nari thought biting his lip.
“I’m in your class as well…” He trailed off and Jun took that chance to interject.
“I know I never really got to speak with you ever! I thought it would be a good idea if you want to be friends?” Jun said happily ignoring Leo’s harsh nudges to his side.
Nari couldn’t believe his ears, did he just say, friends?!
“I’m not sure if that's a good idea ...You see I’m not the best person to hang around with.” Nari mumbled noticing the sigh of relief, his friend gave.
If Jun noticed he decided to ignore it and stepped hard on Leo's foot. “Nonsense! I would love to be friends with you and so would Leo, speaking of we didn’t introduce ourselves yet! I’m Jun Byeong-Hun and this is my best friend Leo Yang.”
Nari nodded and he hesitated before taking a breath of air, his heart thudded nervously when he confirmed both of them as True Alphas.
“Ah I see, um is there something you need from me?” Nari asked his eyes focused on the tiled floors.
The other students in the hallway started to notice who Nari was standing in front of and he could hear the whispers and rumors already forming and he promised He-Ran he wouldn’t get into another fight today, even if that fight was with his crush, which he sincerely hoped it wouldn’t be.
Jun tilted his head confused before he laughed, placing a hand gently on his shoulder he looked Nari in the face. “Of course not! I promise you it's nothing like that we really want to be friends, right Leo?”
Jun was smiling but he was glaring daggers at his friend at the same time.
Leo quickly got the message. “Yes I-I also want to be friends hahahahaha!”
Nari frowned at the sound of him forcing himself to laugh but that was to be expected. I mean seriously it was rare for someone to want to hang out with a freak like himself.
Jun then took that opportunity to wrap things up from there. “Hey it must be overwhelming for us to suddenly come up to you like this, but I promise you we mean no harm and are very sincere about it.”
Nari fought off a smile and nodded. Glancing at his watch, he hated to have to tell Jun he had to leave, but someone was waiting for him and he didn’t want to be rude.
“Listen I’ll think it over the weekend about it. Unfortunately, I need to be getting somewhere, there is someone waiting for me.”
Jun smile still remained on his face and he also nodded. “I understand but wait let me see your phone real quick!”
He pulled his phone from his pocket and was surprised when Jun took it and tapped it against his phone and then to Leo’s.
“There! You know have our numbers! If you ever need anything please feel to call! I’ll see you on Monday then Nari!”
Nari watched shocked and stunned as Jun dragged his friend after him down the hallway towards the entrance.
That did not just happen to him just now.
He pinched his cheek and flinched when he felt pain from that area. It was definitely not a dream.
A light feeling and a sense of happiness he hadn’t felt in a while warm his chest. Smiling to himself he ran towards the nurse's office clutching his phone close to his chest.
Maybe just for once, things were on a positive start to change for him. At the thought, Nari couldn’t help but grin widely and was excited by the fact he could make his first real friend.
But what he didn’t see, was the pair of eyes that watched him from the shadows.
Eyes that wanted to destroy everything about him.
Those eyes he would soon regret that lingered.
The time was unknowingly ticking away.
