Emmett sat in an angry cloud of smoke, multiple cigarette butts stomped out by his feet. He was racking his mind for some memory of the previous evening but still, nothing was coming to him.
A figure loitered in the corner of his haze. The dumb kid. At least he had the decency to look embarrassed.
"Hey Emmett, I'm so-"
"If you're gonna try to run a business you're going to have to be more professional than that."
"Yeah, I know, I really am-"
"And maybe accept your lecture without interrupting me."
That one finally shut the kid up. Emmett took another long drag from his cigarette, regarding the kid. Maybe I should stop thinking of him like that if we've fucked.
Guy.
Tab had his hands shoved in the pockets of his hoodie and every now and then some movement in the distance seemed to distract him but at least he wasn't arguing any further.
"Regardless of my attitude, or anyone else who might work under you in the future, if you're going to be the boss of some business you have to keep your head."
Tab nodded, looking embarrassed as he chose his words. "You're right, of course, I'm sorry. You kinda threw me off. You're a lot different than you were last night." He gave a shrug, as if he knew it was a poor excuse but worth saying anyway.
"You can't tell me you haven't interacted with anyone who was drunk before. Fucking them, sure, but you don't typically make business transactions with them."
Tab's cheeks reddened and he looked down at his shoes as he scuffed them nervously against the asphalt.
"Do you seriously want me to take these pictures for you?"
"Would you still be willing to do it?" He was trying to check his emotions but it was obvious that Tab was thrilled by even the possibility.
Emmett stood up, a stark reminder of their height difference. I need to find out how old this guy is, for real. "Fine, I'll do it. But I need to be completely in charge of the shoot. There's a big difference between fashion design and marketing." Emmett took the last drag of his cigarette before stomping it under his boot. His mouth turned into the slightest of smirks before he blew out the smoke. "I even have the perfect location in mind if you don't mind a drive."
"Of course not!" Tab pumped his fist in the air, grinning widely. He looked as if he might jump up and down too but a stare from Emmett sobered him up. His cheeks were red again but he managed to turn a calmer smile back on Emmett. "Follow me to the car?"
