The next morning, Greer woke up nice and early like normal. She didn’t want to wake anyone up, or get locked out, so started her alternative working. Squats, sit ups, push ups, and the like. Things which could be done quietly, as to not disturb her hosts. It wasn’t long, however, before Luce came in and saw what appeared to me a 20 something man in the apartment doing one armed push-ups.
“Excuse me…. What are you doing in our apartment? Did Dewi… invite you over?” his sharp tone was missed by Greer as she switched arms.
She looked up and kept going. “Huh? Oh sorry… did I wake you? Was trying to be quiet… I’m Greer… Dr Holmes invited me.” A quick surge of pain rose up in Luce before she continued. “See I’m having issues with my ability registration and I kinda ran out of cash, so he said he’d help me get sorted. Said I could crash on the couch for the night ya know?”
And just like that, it disappeared. Shi-shi did that? Of course he did. He was really such a softy when no one was looking. Luce smiled wide. “Oh well then, sorry about the misunderstanding. Sato didn’t say anything about you coming.”
Greer quickly pushed herself up in one swift motion and jumped to her feet. “Well, we had to talk about the details of my case for a while. And it was a long day so he got me a blanket and let me sleep on the couch. He was pretty sure no one would mind. Fell right asleep. Good quality couch you got.”
She pulled a small towel out of her bag and started wiping herself down a bit. “Anyway, I can help with some chores if you like after I get cleaned up. It’s the least I could do.”
Oh, Luce liked this one. This Greer seemed very responsible, pleasant even. No wonder Shi-shi helped them out if they were in trouble. “Oh well, let’s wait until Sato is up before we talk about that for now.”
Greer smiled wide. “Alright, thanks…. Hey when can I use the shower? I don’t want to bother anyone.”
Luce waved his hand. “Don’t worry about it. Either they’ll be dead asleep or should get up soon anyway. Clean towels are in the closet over there.”
She nodded, grabbed her bag, and headed right in.
About 20 minutes later, Blake woke up and started to stumble towards the bathroom. Luce was saying something about someone in there… but he was too tired. He was just going to brush his teeth anyway. What did … it…mat….ter.
He was standing there, staring at someone who had just some out of the shower. A body builder? “Hey Dewi you don’t have to do that to impre-“
Luce just saw Blake getting beamed in the head with a bottle of Cherry Blossom shower gel, and a loud wake-everyone-up voice scream. “There’s a woman in here ya blockhead! Don’t you KNOCK?!”
Sato stood up and grabbed his phone. Looks like it was already time to take notes

Greer sat down at the table after getting dressed. She sighed, this was not the impression she was hoping to make. Maybe they weren't too mad at her. She smiled nervously at Luce. "Sooo.... Roommates... always barging in?"
"Yeah, sorry about that. My brother used to be a nervous wreck all the time, making sure to triple check everything before doing anything. Since we moved in with Dewi and Shi-shi, though, he's become more careless...."
She nodded, now very nervous. "Sorry, it's just... too bad I can't use that as evidence for my case you know?" she chuckled a bit. "Maybe they'd listen then that I need to be removed..."
"Removed from what? Existence? Because, trust me, no power is worth that."
She blinked. "Huh, oh no no.... I don't have powers. Due to a whole bunch of stupid shit... I got registered with luck powers I really don't have. I'm positive of it." She sighed. "The short version is people got jealous, called agents and even as Dr Holmes said... a lot of people got lazy and I ended up registered with no REAL proof." She sighed. "He's really nice... he's going to help me get a job since I lost the last one... people claimed I was using my powers to make accidents happen.... drum up business... so.... I was fired... basically. It was that or get a record."
Luce smiles in his usual way when he's trying not to upset others with his own emotions. "Well, that is quite unfair. Accusations concerning powers are a serious matter and shouldn't be so lazily investigated."
She nodded a bit. "Look I'll try not to be here longer than needed... Honest. I'm just out of cash. But Dr. Holmes was sure he could get me a maintenance job. I mean... it won't be the same as working on a car." She sighed, a slight dreamy look in her eyes. "The sound a car makes when it's fixed back to the way it should be...."
"There's no rush..... feel free to stay as long as you need. And don't worry about Blake, I'll make sure he and Dewi know to behave."
She smiled. "You are a bunch of nice guys, you know that right? Though I hate to ask... is there any breakfast?"
"I'm just finishing it up now. Hope you like scrambled eggs, because I made a lot."
Greer grinned. "Love them, great with biscuits. Maybe tomorrow I can help you make some..." She looked. "So Um... Dr Holmes said one of you changes shape... Um... is that true?"
"Yeah, that would be Dewi." Just then, Blake is lured out of his room by the smell of breakfast. "Hey, Bro, get your lazy boyfriend out here, now. He's only got an hour to eat before his manger comes to pick him up."
Greer looked to Blake. "...Your head ok now? Cherry Blossom can be dangerous." She fixed him a plate and puts it on the table for him. "Um sorry... bout that..."
"Um.... yeah.... sorry about mistaking you for my boyfriend.... he's always pulling those kinds of pranks on me, so.... yeah, sorry." Blake awkwardly walks to one of the other doors and goes in without even knocking.
She looks to Luce. "So... his boyfriend is the shapeshifter person? That's cool." She starts to finish setting the table and helping to plate the food. "So... anything...Oh hey!" She grabbed a cloth that fell on a burner. "Geeze... be more careful there!"
"That's odd... I usually am. Must be the late nights lately...."
"Well, I did hit your brother with a bottle... after you found me sleeping in your living room.. you're probably distracted right?" Greer was even more nervous now. How long before they thought... no the Doctor said it would be fine.
"Maybe, but it's probably the late nights. Or it could be the new power suppressant meds Shi-shi has me on..." Luce rubbed his eyes a bit.
She looked at him. "Power suppressant? Well... I mean... bad side effects? Maybe if I pretended to take it... nah can't be good for folks with no powers..."
Luce gave her an odd look. This was a strange girl to be certian. "Well I'm only taking them for my own ease of mind, but Shi-shi doesn't like the idea of me not being able to defend myself, so he's having me test out a more mild version..... it's harmless for non-power users, so he's hoping it'll just help me control my powers better. You know, like an extra safety net."
Greer nodded a bit. "Right. Sounds good though. For those that need it and all. Maybe if it's harmless to non users it can be a good backup plan then..." She went quite thinking. "...I was gonna work in my dad's shop, ya know? He taught me... after... after the report came in... everyone was accusing him of using me... There was no proof but..." She sniffled a bit.
Luce just wanted to hug her and make her feel better, but didn’t know if she was already with that. "Hey, it'll be okay. I'm sure Shi-shi will figure it all out for you. He's the smartest guy I know, so I'm sure he'll find a solution. I mean, I'm sure things won't go back to exactly how they used to be, but that doesn't mean you can't strive towards a better future. Things will work out somehow."
She rubbed her eyes. "Sorry I get emotional when I've slept on a couch." Greer smiled a bit at her poor joke. "Ok right... I'll just... lets get food yeah? You put all this work into it and I beamed your brother... Might as well eat it before everyone else gets out yeah?"
