Home was sub-posts to be cozy.

But it wasn't for Armintas case.Home was cold.The blinds were always closed leaving only a creak for whats little light to come it.Though she never complained on that.She was more or less like her father.Dark,but she never really brooded.Quite,unless she was with her tutor.

What anyone could agree on were her eyes.Black as night as was her hair.When a flame from the candles that hung shined upon her eyes they seemed to hypnotize anyone who dared to stare into them.She found this very useful to her account.At a young age she was able to bend people to her will.Use them as she please.

But don't get her wrong she had her limits.She just merely made them get her a snake for,slip her a answer or two.

It was her eyes or natural Legilimency .

Arminta settled herself by the fireplace,the Daily Prophet floating so she wouldn't go through the trouble of holding it as she held the cup of tea in her hand.

"Miss."A house elf appeared in ragged clothes.

"Tippy,"looking from the paper and over to the one of the Malfoys man House Elf she couldn't help but feel a little guilty,"what brings you here?"

"Little Lord Malfoy and Lady Malfoy have requested permission to floo here."

Her lip perked at the word little.It has always brought her amusement,although she'll never tell the blonde of it when he's here,"Permission granted,"lifting herself and banishing the paper ready to greet the guest.

Tippy popped away.

The floo gave a ring like the phones they rarely used in the muggles world.And out from the green flames,gracefully,were none other then Draco and Narcissa Malfoy.She bowed in respect of the visitors,"Welcome."

Narcissa smiled kindly at her and moved with such grace as she went to hug her,"There no need to bow Arminta."

Arminta let her though she never hugged back,"Right."

Pulling back,"Are you free of tutors today."

"Yes all week."

"And your Father?"

She averted her eyes,"Let for Hogwarts two days ago."

The women scowled,"That man!I should put him in his place for leave before your birthday!"

Her lip perked at her motherly protection,"I know you would."

"Hello,"The small blonde behind his mother called in annoyance,"I'm here to you know."

Arminta smiled at the sight of her long time friend,"Hi Draco."

He scratched the back of his head the tip of his ears reddening,"Hey Arminta.H-Happy Birthday,"reaching in his pocket he pulled out a small box tide with a green ribbon,"this is for you."

Taking she handled it as if it were a china doll,so fragile.Gently slipping the ribbon from it form she opened the lid and inside was a necklace.She felt her cheeks warm.It was a sight to behold.A emerald diamond the size of a raspberry,vines of silver roses and leaves that dipped inward as it surrounded the beautiful jewel.The thin chain coaled around itself like a silver snake.Looking at it with a smile of adoration,"It's beautiful Draco,"closing it carefully fearing it may break at the slightest touch,"thank you."

His chest puffed out in pride and she rolled her eyes.

"Well of course a maiden only deserves the best,"His nose in the air reminding her of of the Elder Malfoy,"I knew it was perfect when I picked it out."

"Yes of course,"she sarcastically agreed,"but didn't your mother help."

He sputtered,"I-I um-"

"Yes of course I did,"Narcissa perked in happily ruffling her son hair,"he may be talented but he knows nothing out womens jewelry."

He pouted and scowled when his mother blow his cover and messed up his hair.

"I thought so,"she smirked,"Lipy!"

Calling her house elf she appeared in robes Arminta had gotten her.

Her house elf wasn't like the traditional ones.Lipy worked for the Snapes.Cleaned,cooked but she got paid for it.This wouldn't have been possible if she had stayed with the Malfoys.Lipy was given to her and her father as a gift,but her father didn't want her.She was bruised and beaten so out of pity and kindness she accepted her and when Lipy was officially her 'property' Arminta freed her,giving the elf self cleaning robes she now always wears.

That day the Elder Malfoy was furious,any other person would have quivered in fear at the rage of Lucius Malfoy but not Arminta.She stood her ground and at the age of six he stood up to him not flinching once.This was a surprise to him when she looked cold in to his eyes and told him,I don't care.You had given her to me so she is no longer yours,I can do whatever I please.

That was about the day Draco seemed to respect her even more.And also that day Lucius Malfoy had a large chip of his pride taken away from a six year-old girl,his wife wasn't even mad about it she was amused.Always used it when even he got out of line,it was very effective.

And Lipy only stayed because she saw it as paying a debt for freeing her.For showing kindness like other haven't.She was never abused nor treated as lower,but equal.For that she stayed out of respect and dedication.

"Take this to my room please,"handing the box to the elf,"be careful with it.Its precious."

"Of course Lady Arminta."And she popped away.
