Cade sat on the couch. Texting his boyfriend at the time, Daniel;
Daniel: Cade, don't be difficult.
Cade: well, the high schools around Colorado are expensive. And, you know that my family isn't one of those rich families. In fact, we're actually kind of poor.
Daniel: I'll pay for it, don't worry. Then, we can see each other. We can go on dates. You know, love each other.
Cade: well, remember when you cheated on me with a man named Micheal? Yeah, that was fun.
Daniel: that was because I thought it was you.
Cade: Daniel, you're in Colorado. I'm in Virginia. How could it be me if I never even been to Colorado?
Daniel: I thought you flew or something...
Cade: we don't have enough money to buy a plane ticket.
Daniel: but still.
Cade: you know what, lets just figure out my school situation.
Daniel: okay. What about Oak Brooke High School?
Cade: how expensive is it?
Daniel: only 4,500 dollars. Don't worry, I said that I'll pay for it!
Cade: okay.
Daniel: I'll buy you some plane tickets.
Cade: okay, love you.
Daniel: love you too!
Cade closed his phone, staring at the ceiling. "What are you doing?" His little sister, Katelyn, asked. "Questioning about life" he replied "what's that?" The 3-year-old asked. "It's where you question your life." He replied "oh... anyway, you might want to tell mom that you're gay." Katelyn said "who taught you that word?" He asked her, surprised "gay?" She asked "yeah. Who taught you that?" He asked "big, big brother." She said "Kyle?" He shouted. "Yeah?" He replied "why'd you teach Katelyn the 'gay' word?" He asked "she's too young." Kyle stared at his little brother "she'd learn either way." He finally replied. "Cade? Can you come over here?" Their mother asked "yeah" he said as he walked towards his mother.
As they board the plane, Cade wanted to pull out his phone and text Daniel. But he couldn't, because his mother would tell him to put it away. If he didn't, his mother would take it until they arrived in Colorado. Which was a 3 hour flight.
As they landed in Colorado, Cade looked around. Colorado looked way different from Virginia. Cade's thoughts circled his head as he looked around "isn't this place beautiful, Cade?" His mother asked "yeah, it is." He agreed. "Oh, Cade!" Daniel shouted, rushing towards him and his mother. "Cade, is this one of your internet friends?" His mother asked him "um, yeah! He is!" Cade lied. He really didn't want to confess, he imagined to worst of the worst. "Uh, Cade, we're dating..." Daniel said, leaving his mother confused. "Cade, you're gay?" She asked. Cade took a deep breath, then told his mother "yes, I am. Please don't be mad at me..." Cade whimpered. "Honey, I'll support you no matter what! You know, Uncle Harris is married to a man." His mother hugged him "um, I know this is a bad time but... Cade?" Daniel asked "yes?" Cade questioned what he was going to do, he had a little bit of a bad feeling in his stomach. "Um, I'm sorry but I'm breaking up with you." Daniel sighed "I don't want to hurt you anymore." Cade had a single tear roll down his cheek. Daniel walked off, clenching his heart "I am so sorry, Cade. How about we go get some ice cream to cheer you up?" His mother hugged him even tighter. "Um, sure..." Cade sighed.
As Cade and his mother walked into the ice cream parlor, they realized that not many people were there. Only two girls, a guy, and them. "Okay, what flavor do you want?" His mother asked him. "Vanilla is fine..." He mumbled "who orders Vanilla ice cream now-a-days?" They heard a voice say. Cade turned towards them "sorry, I couldn't help but over hear." They said. Cade was confused, were they a boy or girl? They have a feminine body but extra short hair. "Um, I don't mean to sound rude, but are you a boy or girl?" Cade asked them "I'm a girl. I know, it's confusing. Anyway, I'm Bri." They said "Cade. My name's Cade." He smiled "nice to meet you, Cade." Bri grinned "babe? Who's this?" A woman asked Bri. "This is Cade. Cade, this is my girlfriend, Ally. Or, Allison." Bri introduced. Cade stared at the girl "um, hello." He said, eventually. He glanced over at the guy with them "oh, I'm Ethan. Nice to meet you, Cade." The man spoke. Cade blushed at him. "Wait, why am I blushing?" Cade asked himself "huh? What's this? Somebody's blushing~" Bri said. "No! I just blush when I'm shy!" He claimed "so you get a nosebleed when you're nervous?" Ally asked him "where'd you get that from!?" Cade asked her, she shrugged. "Yep, she's a keeper." Bri grinned.
