-Night, Full Moon-
Ever since Aldona started training with Jadvyga; she had seen more full moons then she had cared to admit to. It was like how Azuloas could barely sit still during the hottest part of the day. She didn’t understand why she couldn’t sleep the first time; it wasn’t until Jadvyga told her it had something to do with the creature locked away in the cage.
Aldona hadn’t asked her about the creature since then; all she knew about it was the moon would give her energy. That she wasn’t the only one, that another would be cursed in a similar fashion and Jadvyga didn’t know who that person would be.
War changed a lot, Jadvyga told her.
Azuloas had wanted to stay awake with her, but Aldona just shock her head and told him to go to bed. She would be fine; she wouldn’t be a nervous wrack in the morning and a hyper wrack in the middle of the day; Azuloas would.
It also have more chances to read, she had read and reread most of the books in their apartment and Dvesma had lent her a few just to tide her over. Tonight, she was just restless and couldn’t sit still.
It happened once every three months; prompting Azuloas to make a deal with her. If anything happened that threatened her life, then Azuloas was staying with her the next full moon and there would be nothing Aldona could say to prevent him from doing so.
If that promised made, it became Aldona’s quest to stay out of trouble and it had worked for the last two years. Now, it might be broken, and she could tell something was off the moment she started walking in front of the Spoku-Acs Compound.
A man jumped over the fence, a small bag thrown over his shoulder and that made bells ring in Aldona’s head. Grabbing a dropped dagger, she quickly made her way to the man who was looking at the compound next to him.
“Stop!” Aldona shouted as she put the dagger as far in as she could, chakra going to her arms so that she might be able to drive it deeper. Blood coating her hands, as she pulled another dagger from her pocket and drove that one into his hip joint as he fall.
Thankfully, he fall forward, and she watched as Markuss and Dainis jump the compounds building and stare at the man on the ground. Markuss was furious, something had tried to kidnap his princess out from under his nose and he had almost missed it!
Someone was after their bloodline; he would be talking to the guards about keeping a better eye on the Compounds walls or he’d be sending them back to the Academy with the children! A child had done a better job at guarding his princess then his guards had done!
Aldona helped Dvesma out from the blanket, Dainis pushing the man’s shoulder high enough so that all Aldona needed to do was pull her a bit to completely free Dvesma from the bag that had almost became her torture.
“Aldona?” Dvesma whispered throwing her arms around the smaller girl and crying into her shoulder. A man had come into her room and pulled her into a bag before she could even scream for help.
“Thank you Aldona,” Markuss whispered to her as he pulled both girls into a hug, Dainis could deal with the would-be kidnapper. He had two children that needed to be comforted, two children that had to deal with a man trying to get his on the Spoku-Acs bloodline.
“Brother, we might want to take him to the Paslėpta liepsna,” Dainis suggested after he finished tying the man’s wrists together, along with his legs. Throwing him over his shoulder, he didn’t the mask off. Dainis didn’t know what he would do if he knew the person’s identity, Anyuta would get Karlis. Make sure his son was safe, now, he would make sure that his niece was safe and not being dragged off to be as breeding stock for another country.
“Of course,” Markuss told him picking up Aldona and Dvesma, both girls balancing their weight on one of his arms, their heads leaning against their shoulders. When he had a good hold on them, he jumped onto the nearest roof, continuing roof hopping until they got to the Paslėpta liepsna’s office.
