He had a mole under his left eye and a tiny scar crossing the right side of his mouth. I wonder how he got it. Wait, what? Was this that moment in stories were we looked longingly into each others eyes? Hell to the no. That is not me. Plus, we are not in love with each other.
The rest of the class, the rest of the day for that matter, went relatively smoothly. I stopped by my locker not wanting to lug all my books home again. As I closed my locker I remembered I had a meeting with Fen. I stopped by Ms. Sage's room and asked her to pick up my siblings. I mentioned I was meeting a friend and a knowing smirk appeared on her face.
"It's not like that!" I shouted as I left the classroom and went outside.
I had noticed earlier he was driving. I checked to see if his car was still there. It was, so I went to stand by it. I leaned against it hoping it wouldn't start beeping. Of course, with my luck it did. I dropped my bag on the ground and was begging it to be quiet like it was a child. It suddenly stopped beeping. I turned and saw that Fen was descending the steps and walking towards me. A smirk was on his face.
"Trying to steal my car, are you?" He nudged me away and made to open the door.
"Of course not! I was waiting for you." That made him stop. He turned to look at me, confusion written all over his face. He had forgotten. A small bit of me was sad, but the majority of me was devising ways to get out of the meeting now.
"Why?" he asked, now leaning against his car.
"Yesterday you wanted to meet, and then I slapped you and said we should talk today. Do you still want to?" I was kind of hoping he would say no but I still had things I needed to say to him.
"Sure. The roof fine for you?"
"Yes." He opened his car door and threw his bag in. He lifted his hands towards me expectantly.
"What?" I asked. Confusion was written all over my face this time.
He rolled his eyes but answered coolly, "give me your bag. We're going to the same place. I'll give you a ride."
"Uh, no thank you. I'll just walk."
"Just give it to me," He made to grab my bag and I let him.
"Fine, so pushy," I grumbled, taking off my sweater and throwing it in the passenger's seat. It was hot.

The lilac shirt hugged her curves beautifully. My eyes roamed up and down her body, noticing how utterly feminine she was for the first time. She snapped her fingers making me look up.
"Hey! Eyes up here buddy!" Alarm swept into my gaze. Oh god. I had never looked at a woman like that before.
"Hahahahaha! Stop panicking. I was only joking. I always wanted to say that before. Come on let's go up to the roof." She walked to the entrance of the school and I followed her like a lost puppy.
We reached the door to the roof and Jevae swung it open with ease. She walked to the edge and took a deep breath. It was a bit windy up here and the wind took Jevae's hair out of its ponytail. Her hands shot up to make sure her brooches were still in her hair. Once she made sure they were secure, her shoulders released their tension and she turned to face me.
"So, what is it you wanted to talk about?"
"That day on the roof, why were you on the edge?" I know it was a very personal question. Her gaze became stormy and I almost took back the question when she responded.
"You wouldn't understand. Someone who has had a life as perfect as yours would never understand." My face turned to stone. She knew nothing. Nothing of what I had been through. Whatever she had faced, what I had faced was probably ten times worse. What I will have to face will probably be ten times worse.
"You know nothing. Nothing of what I have endured. Nothing of what I have seen. Don't pretend to know what I have been through!"

He shouted and took a step towards me. I took a step back, fear creeping into my expression. Shock made him pause. He noticed the fear in my gaze and turned. He was running away from me again. After my initial shock, I ran after him. He was halfway to his car when I reached the last step.
"Wait!" I shouted. He stopped, but I continued to run towards him.
I touched his shoulder and he turned to look at me. I tilted my head up to be able to look in his eyes. I could see the agony in them. All the unspoken words in his gaze, begging me to understand. Instead of saying pointless apologies, I stood on my tiptoes and gave him a hug. He turned rigid, but then melted into my embrace.

I could feel the anger leaving my body as I returned the hug. She was so tiny. I felt like I could crush her if I hugged her too tight. I squeezed her once and then let her go. The contact was going on for too long.
"Let's go home," I said. She reached out and squeezed my hand before going into the passenger's seat.
I turned on the cold to full blast. She wrapped herself in her sweater but at the moment I didn't give a damn. I needed to cool down from the heat of that hug. I put on more Panic! At the Disco. She gasped and I turned to see what was the problem. There was utter joy in her expression. I decided not to question her about it. We reached the apartment complex in no time. I parked and got out, intending to open the door for her. When I reached the other side, she was already out. She stepped closer and planted a kiss, feather light, on my cheek.
"I'm sorry," she whispered, before flying up the stairs.
I stood there, frozen in place for who knows how long. The worst part was, I believed her.
