Gym is of course my favorite class, well my second favorite class. Fighting is the only real thing I'm good at, if only… My thoughts were cut off as Maria lunged at me, I dodged. It was just enough so that she missed me and I was close enough to attack. I spin around fast to kick her, she caught my foot. Before she could throw me, I used my free leg to try to kick her again. This caused her to drop my other leg so that she could defend herself. We exchanged a series of punches and kicks before the bell rung, signaling the end of class. Morning classes were over and lunch was about to start. I was heading to my dorm when Maria caught up with me. Besides witches, necro-mancer are also thought to be amoung the lowest and weakest of races. Necro-mancers are looked down amonug, because their power is controlling the dead. They have to use others to protect them, while vampires rely on no one elses strength but their own. Witches too rely on their own powers sometimes, other times we have to call upon the spirits of the elements or nature. The only reason witches are looked down amonug is because we are as some races say "the broaderline between humans and the races". Even made vamps, weres, and physics, who are all more human then witches are at a higher stats then witches. Me, well I don't know were I stand on this. I'm part vampire one of the noblest creatures, yet my blood is thought to be impure because I'm also part witch.
"Mika," Maria asked, "Want to have lunch together?" The one thing we both have in common is that we're both outsiders. "Sure" I said, "But I'm eating in my dorm." Sakura and the others are no doubt looking for me. "On second thought lets go somewhere else." I said at the thought of the others finding me and questioning me to no end. Maria knew a spot not to far away from the campus. It was on top of a hill that had one tall tree for shade, the sun was shining brightly on us. That was a problem for me, I'm still getting use to my vampire side and this is the first time since that change that I've been outside. "Mika, are you ok?" Maria asked. The sun was hurting me more then I thought it would. We all know that full pureblood vamps will burn up in the sun and die. Other purebloods that have some faint traces of human relatives are affected by the sun but they won't die. The worst is that they'll faint or be seriously weakened. For actual half-vampires the worst the sun will do to them is hurt their eyes, until they are use to the sun. Right now it felt like my skin was burning, my body felt like pins and needles. I walked slowly over to the tree, the shade helped a little but not much. At first I thought this was just my body's way of getting use to the sun again. I was able to stop some of the pain with some herbs that I took with me this morning.
After I told Maria that I was fine, we started talking. At first it was nothing important just school and all the crap that been going on. Then we found out we both were attacked by Hajin, only she chose to fight without using her powers. "You know that for you to fight without using your powers against a demon is crazy. Right?" She laughed, she knew she could've been killed if it wasn't for Shin saving her. Speaking of Shin, he walked over just as she said his name. They're families were old friends, so they've known each other for a while. It's just that since coming here they've become friends. This was the first in a long time that I think I've made new friends. Alas this fun was not meant to last; the effects from the sun had reached its peak. The pain I was feeling earlier was now pure burning pain, it felt as though my flesh was melting off. My blood was boiling, my vision started to become blurted. Maria and Shin were worried about me, Maria knew what I am. So she had Shin carry me back to the school.
