"And this is how you plan on helping me?!" I yelled at Kenji, who started attacking me for no reason. I was doing warm-ups when he first attacked and was in no position to defend myself. The first attacked missed because I dodged it, the second one was stronger and may have crushed my arms if I had blocked it. His second attack missed because I jumped out the way at the last moment. I'd now learned one of my body's new strengths and that was superhuman-speed. Another I soon found out was superhuman-strength. Kenji was faster and stronger then I remember him being. Soon after I'd dodged his attack, he was right there be hide me. The first attack had left a huge dint in the floor, the last one left another dint in the wall. It was a good thing I'd dodged those two. There was no way I could've blocked them, or so I thought. From be hide me Kenji started to punch me in the head with the same amount of strength he'd just used. If this attack landed it would crush my skull, killing me. There was no time to dodge and my only choice was to block. So, I raised both of my arms above my head basseting myself for that cracking sound which would be my skull.
But that sound never came. I'd blocked Kenji attack like it was nothing. He to looked as shocked as I did. With those few second of confusion, I grabbed Kenji's arm and pulled him down. Then just before his head fell all the way to the ground, I kicked him. The force used was more then I meant to use. It should have just been enough to knock him uncouiss. Instead, I kicked him to the other side of the gym. I ran over to see if he was ok, sure enough he was. Blood was dripping down his face from his forehead, but other then that he was ok. Kenji stood up laughing, "I didn't think you'd be able to block that last attack so easily. Let alone kick me all the way to the other side of the gym. Good job." How could he be laughing? He had attacked me three time and each time I was unhurt. Yet when I attack one time I could've killed him. Hmm….being part vampire may be better then I thought it would be. Once he stopped laughing, we walked to the inmary.
"Seriously, were you trying to get yourself killed?" I asked Kenji as we sat in the imary. The nurse had just finished using a healing spell to help his injury heal faster. I was now waiting for the dizziness of the spell to wear off of him so that we could leave. He looked at me like nothing happened and gave me a lazy smile. "I told you before I was helping you. On your own you could never truly practice and learn to control your new abilities." He started to sit up and looked me in the eyes. "I'm not human or as weak as you think I am. Whatever you learned about me from fighting, forget everything." It's true something about him has changed even if I don't know what it is I can still sense it. I looked at the necklace he had sent to me before he arrived. "Well, maybe this once your right. But in any case there are still many things you're going to have to explain to me. Like the fact that you still haven't told me what you are." I started to get up to leave when dizziness hit me and made me lose my balance.
Kenji grabbed my arm to keep me from falling. "You need blood don't you?" He was right I did need blood, but I didn't want to take it from him. When I wouldn't answer him, Kenji pulled me onto him lap. "I know you don't want to do this, but you're going to have to get use to it. That's why I made you take me as a familiar, because taking blood from someone you don't know would only make things worst for you." He whispered this into my ear. And it was with those kind words that I bite into his neck and took the blood of my best friend.
