The next morning, Ash was woken up by the usual Marcus morning alarm. “Get up you brat.” He said. Then he threw something into the room. “Put these on. Don’t want the other boys to see anything.” The man said and then shut the metal door.
On the floor before him was a role of gauze and a black long sleeve. Ash did his best to put the gauze on himself, but he knew it wasn’t a very good job. Then he threw a long sleeve on over it.
After he was dressed, Ash stumbled out of the room where he nearly ran into Marcus. “’Bout time you lazy brat. Let’s go. You’ve had two days off and that means the other kids couldn’t get in as much practice as they needed.”
Ash followed him as quickly as he could, but apparently, it wasn’t quick enough for him as he grabbed him by the hair to drag him to the outer courts. The pain was overwhelming in his head and where he most recent wounds ached, so he just gave up fighting and allowed himself to be pulled along.
Like usual, Ash was chained up to the wall while the other boys summoned their animals and tried to maintain a control over them. Ash didn’t even bother to move; he just slunk to the ground and waited for it to be over.
All of a sudden, there was a roar unlike any animal he had ever heard before. He looked up and saw all the other boys looking confusedly for the source of the noise.
Then there was a great flapping noise like a magnified bad of a bird’s wings and then another noise. Out of the corner of his eye, Ash saw a ginormous animal that had the scales like a snake and eyes similar to it. It was a dark red all around and it flared its teeth at them letting out another monstrous roar.
Ash knew exactly what it was: a dragon.
