Ash knew exactly what it was: a dragon. He stared up at the beast in fear and that was only when he noticed that it carried something on its broad back. Was it a person?
Ash looked over to Marcus who looked frightened.
“They’re trying to finish us off to finish the war!” One boy shouted. “I’m not ready to die!”
“You’re not going to die.” Told Marcus calmly after he got ahold of his emotions. Then he looked over to Ash and a smirk came across his face. “We have the perfect bait to keep it busy.”
Marcus strode purposely over to where Ash was sitting on the ground. “I guess today is your last day.” He announced to Ash while undoing his chains. Then he took a coarse rope and tied Ash’s hands in front of him before taking a strip of cloth and tying it into a gag in his mouth. “Good luck.” He said forcing the boy over closer to the dragon.
Ash looked up at the dragon in fear. He stumbled forward and fell over. He watched as the dragon rained fire on everything around him, then his eyes focused on the Ash who lay crumpled on the ground.
