Kion leaned back in his chair locking his eyes on the stranger, ”How did it look out there today?”
The stranger leaned against the door, placing his hands in his pockets, ”Interesting.”
”There were more officers out today, weren't there?”, Kion raised an eyebrow.
”You bet, if they get any worse we might have a problem.”, the stranger sighed.
”What’s that dramatic sigh for? Too much work for you?”, Kion smirked.
The stranger let out a chuckle, ”You know it, boss.”
Kion’s expression became firm, ”Adonis I hope you remember what has to be done if Violet fails?” (pronounced: Ah dawn es)
The stranger Adonis lowered his eyes to the floor, ”Yes, sir.”
…
I stepped into the office hoping Neel wasn't back yet. Really just hoping no one was in there, I didn't want to deal with either of them for their own reasons. The date was kinda embarrassing to talk about if I saw Violet. Neel? Well just what I deal with every day.
I slowly opened the door to see Neel sitting at his desk. I can't believe I was saying this, but I was actually glad it was him.
I opened the door fully to see Violet sitting on the opposite side of the room, ”Shit.”, I mumbled to myself.
I was visible so there was no turning back, ”Hey Neel I brought the copies you wanted.”, I forced a smile trying to ignore Violet’s presence.
Neel looked up at me with his tired eyes, ”Thanks, kid.”
I saw Violet in the corner of my eyes smiling my direction, she stood up suddenly locking her arms around my forearm, ”Can we talk somewhere in private?”
Neel looked up and smirked at me with a thumbs-up as Violet pulled me out of the room. Great now he thinks that I scored last night. I should really be more aware of her actions.
Violet brought me around the corner where no one seemed to be, ”So are you going to come with me to The Black Cross?”
My eyes widened, ”Wait you were serious? I thought you were joking.”, I whispered.
She shook her head, ”No I was serious, so are you coming?”
”I mean I guess, but don't involve me in any of your ghoul stuff if I do.”, I sighed.
She hugged me tightly, ”Don't worry I won't, maybe.”
”Violet”, I whined
She giggled, ”I'm teasing, and about the other night I really enjoyed it.”
My gaze met hers, ”Uhm me too.”, I said softly.
Her eyes softened as she smiled. I was hoping she didn't mention that, but I liked it. I haven't been on a date in a while because of what happened with my last girlfriend. Maybe I could start fresh but it might be hard.
