Shane sighed sitting on the sand watching the ocean's eb and flow.
"I left him with such a face... I'm terrible." Shane grumbled, hanging his head between his legs as he stared at the warm sand. "But then... At that time, how was I supposed to act? If I had said anything else, he'd have wailed and cried. Or if I hadn't have said that, he'd be following me."
Shane fell backwards onto the sand to sleep. "I'm not worth it."
"I disagree."
Slowly, Shane opened his eyes, tilting his head back to look inland.
Standing a bit behind him was Mira pouting.
"You are worth the trouble, and I'll pound that into your thick skull!"
Shane didn't move as Mira walked over to him and sat down next to him.
"Yoru told me." Mira said after a short silence. "You ran from me because you didn't know how to act, right?"
"..."
"I don't know how you should act either really. But I do know that running away isn't the answer."
"You're just saying that because you want to keep following me around." Shane said as he sat up.
"It's because I love you that I say it." Mira corrected Shane.
"You love me?" Shane asked, snickering. "I'm really not worth it. You'd be better off with someone else."
"What would you do?"
"Be a hermit here." Shane said.
Mira frowned. "What if that 'someone else' hit me?"
Shane didn't respond at first. Then slowly he spoke, "Then they're heartless bastards who don't understand you at all. But..." He looked out to the waves. "You are the moron who wails and cries all the time."
"I'm not now, am I?"
Shane looked to him, smiled a bit then looked back to the ocean. "No. You're not." He blinked. "Why aren't you?"
Mira smiled a bit, "Because... I'm trying to show you that I'll chase you over and over again until you tell me you don't like me."
"I already-"
"I just said that I annoy you. Not that you didn't care. Right?"
Shane didn't move.
Mira smiled, shifting closer to him to look at the blush on the brunette's face. "Shane. If you care about me, you shouldn't run away from me."
"Even if... I can't make you happy?"
"Yeah. So be the 'gentleman' and kiss me. <3" Mira snickered.
"You talked to Alice, I see." Shane grumbled.
"Shane~"
He rolled his eyes, then looked over to the waiting blond. Shane leaned towards him slowly, kissing Mira's lower lip softly. After the kiss, he looked back out to the ocean, his entire face going red.
Mira smiled happily, snuggling closer to Shane, nuzzling his cheek. Shane shifted to move away, but Mira held his head in place to continue nuzzling. After that was out of his system, Mira was content with leaning slightly on Shane while they watched as the stars came into sight.
"You sure like staring out at the stars."
"It's like it's sucking me in to a calm place." Shane answered. "I know it's always changing and we can't see it... But it's always been so vibrant and bright since I was a kid. It's been the only constant."
"Hey... Shane... You don't like you heart messed up, do you?"
"Huh?"
"Like how bedrooms are usually either clean or messy. I peg yours as being clean."
"Wait... You mean in metaphor of my heart?"
"Yeah."
"...I guess my heart's clean..."
"Everything's in its place?"
"Yeah."
"Can I mess it up?" Mira asked, pulling Shane's nearest arm to his grip to hug it.
"...A little."
Shane clenched his held arm's hand around Mira's shirt at his stomach. It showed to Mira that while Shane was uneasy at the moment, he was willing to let Mira stay there with him.
