Aki looked to his bed, seeing the letter. “Oh right.” He sat down and opened the letter, beginning to read it.
What would he think when he reads that letter? At first, he’d think it’s from some shy girl, I’m sure. Would he be shocked to read my name at the end of it? Would he hate me? Would he be happy, or just… nothing? I wondered about that all day, knowing that the letter would arrive. Aki didn’t bother me that night, not that I blame him. Who would want to hang around a guy like me?
Still Hito waited. He waited several days, only watching in worry as Aki avoided talking to him at all. After a week, Hito couldn’t take it. He left in the night with the belonging’s he’d arrived with.
Aki woke up early that same morning specifically to talk to Hito. When he found the blond gone, he freaked. A cold spring morning was the last time Hito should leave during.
Aki ran downstairs, seeing Mastuki at the front door. “Hito’s gone!”
“He went back home.” Mastuki said, turning to Aki.
“What?” Aki blinked, “Why?”
The man shrugged. “He just said a few things to me before he left.”
“…What’d he say?”
“That it was a mistake for him to come here in the first place.” Mastuki frowned as he spoke. “…He said he was sorry for bothering us and was going home to where he belongs.”
“Belongs…?” Aki asked sadly. “Wh-what..? He belongs here! Why didn’t you try to stop him?”
Mastuki glared over to Aki. “Because. He looked so sad as he left, but he truly felt like he didn’t belong here for whatever reason.”
Aki looked down slowly. “He left because of me, didn’t he?”
“Because you were cold to him and avoiding him?” Mastuki shook his head. “No… But I doubt that has nothing to do with it.” He sighed, walking back into the kitchen. “He just felt like it was time for him to go home.”
“Mastuki…” Aki called to the kitchen. “Where does he live?”
