It has been 3 months and you can tell Lucille was pregnant now. We were going out one night and we passed my house and that night. We sat on the couch and watched a movie when I heard a knock on the door. I thought it was odd because it was 8:30 p.m. and nobody knocked on our door as well. I opened the door and was greeted by two faces I didn’t want to see. I saw Nikoletta and my dad. I waved at Lucille to get down but she didn’t see.
“Hello son, we’re here for her.” My father said seriously.
I couldn’t speak. Nikoletta walked up to Lucille. She wrapped her left arm around Lucille’s mouth. I could see the panic in her eyes. Nikoletta whispered something in her ear. She started crying.
“Ok son, hand her over and nobody will get hurt.” My dad told me.
I teared up when I looked at Lucille. She looked so helpless. When my father told me nobody would be hurt if I gave them Lucille. Nikoletta rubbed Lucille’s bump. Lucille nodded at me.
“NO, YOU CAN’T TAKE HER!” I yelled at my father.
He nodded at Nikoletta. Nikoletta moved her left arm away from Lucille and pushed her right arm against Lucille’s neck. Lucille struggled to breathe.
“Ash…… please I-I’ll be ok……... I-I don’t want….. the b-baby hurt.” Lucille gasped.
Her helpless face made me give in. She smiled at me before Nikoletta took her.
“Remember if you tell anyone someone will be hurt.” My dad whispered to me as he left.
He closed the door behind him and I stared at the door. I collapsed on the ground crying. My girlfriend and baby were gone. I felt a hole in my heart. I felt like all of this was my fault.
I needed sleep I dragged myself to the bathroom. I looked at my tear-stained face and went to bed. I couldn’t sleep though. All I could do was cry. I finally fell asleep hugging my tear-soaked pillow. Thinking about the empty spot on the bed where Lucille usually slept.
