It’s been a week since I’ve been home. I think as I sigh, rubbing my head as I hear Jasmin hum, “I gotta go,” she calls as I blink, standing as I head over, “Okay,”
“Practice what I taught you,” she says sternly, making me groan and huff, “but I don’t wanna,”
“It helps, plus, I’m sure loverboy is coming later,” she snickers as I cringe and shake my head, “don’t call him that,”
“Call him what? You knew what I was talking about,” she smirks as I look away, “Cus you constantly call him that,” I grumble as she chuckles, patting my head before she starts to disappear, “Knife throwing Sage,” she hums as I watch her, “Yeah yeah,” I mumble.
I sigh, heading to my room as I grab the sleeve of throwing knives as I head back downstairs. I open the back door and sit on the step, unwrapping the knives as I look at them, seeing double-sided black and red blades.
I hum as I look at them before I look at the axe similar to it. I set them down, heading over as I pick it up; the axe being slightly heavy as I grunt and look at it, would I be in trouble with this? Probably. I hear the sound of roaring from the woods.
I jump and step back, looking at where it came from. I see a black outline its eyes a bright yellow as it stays low to the ground inching forward.
I watch it, what the… it inches forward as it hisses, his ears back. I bite my lip as I move back, my back against the wall. He moves forward staying close to the ground, black smoke comes off him.
I blink before I tilt my head, “Pretty,”
he growls before hissing as he runs at me.
Uh oh, I think before I start to slowly before quickly edging away from his view. He slides turning as he looks at me his tail swaying behind him as I notice something familiar about him. I blink before tilting my head before he starts to run at me again.
But why. I think as I move out of the way again. He slides his front paw swiping at my leg making me fall.
I turn, making me fall as my eyes narrow, looking at it.
It growls and hisses at me. I move to a crouch as I look at it. He bats his paw at me, still hissing. I dodge and move back quickly, damn it. I think. It makes a roaring noise as it walks forward its eyes appearing to dim slightly.
I grip the axe before I inhale sharply, I gotta throw it. I think. He growls as he runs at me again.
I move back quickly before I aim quickly, throwing it. The axe goes into his shoulder as he slides to a stop and looks at me sadness in his eyes as he tries to paw at it a small whimper coming from him.
I blink before I slowly head over to him. He growls lowly as he limps backward.
“No, lemme take it out,” I say softly. He whines as he backs up.
I put my hands out for him, my eyes soft, “please?”
he lowers to the ground his ears back. I crouch slowly, “I promise,”
He growls but stays. I bite my lip and walk over slowly. His ears stay back as he hisses.
I stop a few inches back and look at him, my hands out. He makes a weird noise as he lays on his side. I reached over slowly, putting a hand on his head. He breathes heavily as he watches me his eyes a dim yellow.
I put my hand on the hilt of the axe, “can I take it out?” I ask softly. He whines as he looks at me staying still. I bite my lip before I pull it out quickly, making him yelp and breathe quickly.
“Sorry,” I say softly as I rub his head, setting the axe down. He jumps up smoke coming from the wound before it fades away.
I jump and move back quickly. He looks at me his tail swaying as he lowers himself back down, crossing his front paws.
I look at him as I tilt my head. He huffs as he stays on the ground. I put my hands out to him. He stays where he is his eyes calm and his head high as his tail wraps around him.
I reach over, my hand on his head gently. He looks at me his eyes closing a small growl coming from him. I move my hand from his head slightly. He looks at me black smoke radiating off him. I blink and look at it. His eyes flicker as he stands.
I watch him as I tilt my head.
His figure starts to smudge as more smoke appears. He disappears the smoke fading into the air. I blink rapidly before I stand slowly, the…...what…..just happened? I think. I slowly head back to the porch, sitting down as I rub my arm, what…..
I head back into the house, setting the knives down before I head upstairs into the bathroom. Turning the water on, I soon slip in as the water fills the tub. I move my hair back as I look up, sighing softly; the water warm.
I get out and dry my hair before heading back to my room as I sigh softly. I shut the door and head to my closet. I blink before I look over my shoulder, seeing the throwing knives stuck into the wall making a circle. I blink before I head over to them slowly, “the….bloody...hell?”
One of the knives suddenly falls to my feet, making my jump back as I look at it. It lays on the floor as I look at it. I crouch down to pick it up, moving the towel as I tilt my head. I set it on the bed before I head back to the closet, I grab one of the shirts; slipping it on before doing the same with the jeans.
I tie my hair up before looking back at the knife on my bed, seeing it in a different position.
I blink before heading over to it.
I shake my head and head downstairs. I hear the front door open and grumbling following as I lean back, seeing Jasmine as she heads upstairs, “you okay?” she asks as I hum and nod, watching her as I see her hair tangled in a mess as her clothes are ripped.
I blink as she goes upstairs before disappearing into her room. I blink and tilt my head before I head to the kitchen, grabbing the pans as I start to cook; humming softly as I do. I hear the front door open again. I turn my head, walking back as I hold the pan with me. I see Dravon a small wound on his shoulder as he looks at me raising an eyebrow. “Going to whack me with a pan now?”
I blink rapidly then look at the pan then at him, “Why would I whack you? And no, I’m making food,” I say as I tilt my head. He walks past me patting me on the head as he heads to the kitchen, “alright”
I headbutt his side before following him. He chuckles “what are you making, I'm hungry”
“Uh, I’m not makin’ your food,” I say as I poke his side, “but I’m making chicken,”
He raises an eyebrow as he looks at me, “you went shopping?” he asks
I nod, “yeah, the other day since Jasmine let me. Had me take a set of knives with me,” I grumble the last part as I set the pan down and go in the fridge. He nods, “alright”
I hum and grab the pack of chicken, “but if you help me than I can consider givin’ your food,” I say as I set it down before poking his arm, looking up at him as I smile. His eyes narrow as he looks at me slight judgment in his eyes. “fine”
I roll my eyes and sigh softly before I cut the plastic off the package. He watches me his eyes wonder around a little. I lean against the counter as I turn the water on, “can you turn the pan on and take out the flour mix from the fridge? It’s in a bowl,`I hear him move around the sound of the stove clicking as it turns on, fills the air.
I hum and start cleaning the chicken, leaning against the counter. I hear the door to the fridge open before the sound of the bowl being set down roughly beside me on the counter. I stop and turn my head, looking at him, “thank you,” I say as my eyes narrow. He nods slowly as he gives me a confused look.
I open the bowl with my other hand as I set the chicken in the bowl, shaking it lightly. I feel him watching me as he goes to say something but steps back instead.
I look at him, “what? Say it,”
He shakes his head as he looks at the bowl.
“It’s flour, seasoin’, salt and pepper,” I say as I stop and open the bowl before I grab the tongs. He nods as he spins around. “Right,” he says heading to the door.
“Where are you goin’?”
He shrugs as he stops walking. “So you still want me to feed you?” he spins around as he sighs and looks at me.
I raise an eyebrow, “Yes? No?”
He nods “yes”
I hum before I turn back around, putting the chicken in the pan as it hisses. After they cook, I take them off, humming softly. Dravon walks beside me looking at me then at the chicken.
“Go ahead,” I nod. He quickly picks one up and steps back as he starts eating it his tail wrapping around his waist as the tip twitches.
I watch him, amused as I lean against the counter. I hear a loud crunching noise as I notice the half of the chicken bone is gone.
I blink rapidly before I start laughing. He looks down at me as he chews the sound of the bone-breaking in his mouth filling the air. I watch him, running a hand through my slightly short hair before I see Jasmin come down, “He always does that,” she sighs, going in the fridge as she grabs the lettuce. Dravon watches me as he takes another bite breaking the bone again before eating the rest of the meat.
I look at him, I guess, humans aren’t supposed to eat that part. Then again he isn’t human. I think as I tilt my head, Jasmin making a salad before patting my head as she heads back upstairs; her brown curls flowing behind her as I smell the earth from her. Dravon looks away from me before turning, his tail going back behind him as he starts to walk out of the kitchen.
I shrug before I turn, looking at the rest of the chicken as I sigh.
