"Lila, what was that?" Piper burst out as they exited.
"I don't know..." Lila groaned as she dragged a hand down her face. "I just- acted without thinking."
Piper rolled her eyes but nudged her gently, "You're getting some of Tim's qualities."
"Shut up..." Lila huffed as she crossed her arms. "Anyways, you think the plans would work?"
Piper hummed and walked with larger steps, "Well, it will depend on your mom. We can always change it either way."
"Ugghhh-" Lila stopped and banged her head against the wall, "I am so sick and tired of this..."
"Oho?"
"I understand why mom is kinda hesitant but can't she just trust me?"
"I guess she just wants you to be safe."
Lila paused as she stared at her friend, "I guess... but I can take care of myself."
"She wants you to prove it to her."
Lila pushed herself from the wall and puffed out her cheeks, "Then I'm going to prove it to her."
"This is so out of topic but... Are you actually getting an extracurricular?"
"Villainy," Lila smirked at her friend who merely shook her head.
"And I am dragged from my extracurricular for this."
"It won't be for long- actually I think you'd do better as ground base or something."
Piper paused and tilted her head, "You will do this after classes or something, right?"
Lila smirked and shrugged, "Who knows."
"Lila, I swear... If they find out-"
"They won't." Lila snorted as she flapped her hands.
"Sure..." Piper laughed, "But what if they do?"
"I'll make sure they won't."
"Alright, I trust you." Piper sighed.
Lila smiled at her friend, "Thanks."
"Enough of this sappy stuff- about our project-"
"You can't be serious."
"I am. We gotta pass this fast if we want to do some villainy together."
"Alright, alright- I'll do research."
"Of course." Piper snorted, "I'll write everything down in the booklet."
"Yes, nice handwriting..." Lila cooed.
"Shut up-"
"Calligraphy is an art-"
"Hey, you two."
The two girls stopped and spun around to see Will with his arms crossed. Lila blinked a bit as she clenched her hands, did he hear?
"What's up, Will?" Piper asked when she felt Lila's nervousness.
"Eh, not much. So why'd you do that earlier?"
Lila huffed as Will placed a hand on her head. She pried it off and turned away, "I guess seeing two of the most obnoxious people in one place kind of ticked me off."
"Enough to curse?"
"I never really liked James." Lila pulled a face as she looped her arm around Piper's shoulders.
"And what did he do to piss you off?" Will snorted.
"He existed?" Piper and Lila exclaimed together.
The three burst out in laughter before Will shook his head. He gave the two a lopsided grin, "No, really."
"Ugh, he's just so annoying. Flaunting around like he's king. He's such a typical jock."
Piper snorted before she extended her hand out dramatically, "But, like, Lila- He's such a hotty."
Lila laughed before she mimicked the voice, "Ugh, Piper, you should know better. He's just, like, looking for a slut right now."
"Oh ma ghads, Lila! For real?"
"What are you two doing?" Will stifled his laughter.
"Acting like the typical white girl." Lila deadpanned.
"It's a hobby and a talent," Piper added.
Will snorted, "Sure, you two are weird."
"Excuse me." Lila placed a hand on her chest.
"There's a fine line between genius and insanity, we are toeing that line."
"Don't you mean stupidity?"
"No." Piper scowled and crossed her arms.
"Alright, alright... I'll leave you two alone." He checked his watch, "It's almost time for class anyways, I'll see you two later."
He waved them both off as he left. He stuck both his hands into his pockets and walked towards the stairs. He breathed in and glanced at the corridor leading to the cafeteria.
"Leo, you soft-hearted idiot." Will shook his head.
His brother was many things and this included being clueless. He can't tell what's good for him or not and right now, his relationship with Harriet is anything but good. It hurt Will to see his brother so enamored by someone who didn't deserve him in the first place.
He closed his eyes and gripped the railings. He didn't know how it even started, why it even started. One day, Leo went out and came back claiming to have a girlfriend. It didn't match up. He heard the railings crack and let go. He opened his eyes and slowly ascended the stairs. He never saw Leo speak to Harriet their whole Junior Year yet they got together during summer.
He cracked his neck and blew his fringe away. It didn't matter right now because what's done is done. Will smirked as he thought of the implications. He'll have so much fun smashing her face in when she proves to be malicious and using his brother.
He pushed the door to his class open and noted that few people were inside. One of those few people was James. He crinkled his nose when the boy waved him over and gestured to the seat beside him. Will smiled weakly and waved back before he turned and found another seat, far away from the soccer player.
His moment of peace was interrupted by James who slid beside him. Will cringed when he wrapped an arm around his neck and grinned, "Yo, Will."
"James... what- what are you doing here?"
"This is my class." James raised an eyebrow.
Will internally smacked himself. That was stupid of him. He let out a breath and smiled crookedly at the boy, "I meant- what are you doing here. Right here, with me."
"Just thought I'd talk to you."
"You ignored my brothers and I for three years."
"I wanna change that. It's our last year together before Uni after all."
"Sure..." Will inched away from the boy, "Anything else?"
"Well, I can't help but notice you and Timmy's hostility towards Harriet."
"You must be mistaken..." Will laughed and pushed himself away from the boy. He stood up and looked down, "I don't hate her- neither does Tim- we just feel uncomfortable with her around. She's... she never met our mom and all and we just-
"How much of a goody-two-shoes can you get?" James snorted. He grinned widely at the taller male and leaned against the chair, "Come on, let's be bros. share secrets, I promise I won't tell. Honestly, the whole school hates her."
Will narrowed his eyes at James before he turned away, "It's nothing really. We're just not used to people pushing their way into our family- our personal space."
"That Piper girl-"
"Is a childhood friend." Will snapped. He is fine talking about his brothers and him, they understood each other and had each others back. It wasn't much a spoken rule but they agreed that no one should dare bring up the topic of Piper or Lila.
James held up his hands in surrender, "Woah... I was just curious."
"Yeah well it's not invited." Will snarled, "Go stick your nose somewhere else."
"Dude..." James threw his hands up, "I was just kidding. Like, you don't really know with you royals. I mean, you keep to yourselves and leave everyone else wondering."
"We like it that way." Will shoved his hands into his pockets. It was a habit he did whenever he felt strong emotions as his powers would act up and frost over his fingers. "So, please, keep your opinions to yourself."
"Freedom of speech." James shrugged.
Will gritted his teeth and dug his hands deeper into his pockets before he tried to strangle the boy. He paused and took a deep breath, "Yeah well, you should learn to respect people's privacy."
"Yeah, sure whatever." James rolled his eyes as he hid his smirk by ducking his head.
Will glared at the boy and agreed with Lila. He didn't like James one bit. With a huff, he turned away and tried to find another seat. He felt his hands start to warm once more and breathed a sigh of relief. He turned and gazed out the window with a frown. He didn't know if it was a trick of the light but he could have sworn James' eyes had flashed a sickly bright green.
