The first rank is a Common Reaper, these are reapers that deal with the basic deaths’, car accidents, old age, sickness. What these deaths have in common is that it doesn't take that much energy to judge them. Like did you live a full life, and if your going to heaven and hell type of energy. Next rank is the Wolf class or Panther class, they deal with not so every day death, like murders or suicides. That person's soul may still want to live or doesn't want to go to heaven or hell and so this takes a higher amount of energy to deal with, and the fact that the soul may not be able to part from its body that easily. Higher above that is the Light and Dark/Shadow Reapers they deal with rare deaths as in lets say the happiest man alive dies or a pure soul dies. They specifically go to heaven and that's what the light reapers do there also called Sympathy Reapers. For a good soul may suddenly turn and Light Reapers are the only ones to keep them from turning to a pure devil. Though the Shadow Reapers are the complete opposite. They deal with the worst people alive some examples are suicide bombers, mass murders and in rare cases assassins. These people do not get a fair judgment and either is sent to hell by the Shadow Reaper or reincarnated as an insect that is often quickly killed. If you piss off the Shadow Reaper enough then they can erase you from existence. From mind, heart, and soul no one will even remember your name! You might be wondering where am I in all this well, I’m the highest class of Reaper besides death herself. I’m what’s known as a Dragon Reaper. Like Dragons that cause death when the first tamed dragon died, death gave him a chance to be the judgment between heaven and hell. He was transformed into a humanoid dragon and served for the rest of his existence and then was forgotten. Death allowed more of these dragonoids to judge and soon it became more of a promotion if a Dragon Reaper is about to be forgotten or retires they pass there power to next in line and all the quirks that go with it.
