We all climb onto the hover bikes. Kibo looked to me then climbed off hers 

onto mine. 

“I think I am still too small to ride alone.” 

Thaddeus shrugs putting the one Kibo had back into its orb form. It would

 take two days on hover bike to reach Kings. I still felt like something was off

 about going there but wanted to check it out. If mister flame thrower was

 correct and outlaws took the place then this might be interesting. We all

 stayed silent while riding till night fall. Bren and Kibo set up the fire as I went

 to get something to eat. There was wild rabbits around these parts.

 Thaddeus was sitting on a rock just a little bit away from the kids. He kept

 playing with some fire in his hands. Kibo snuck over putting a stick in the 

fire giggling. That is when Thaddeus noticed her. He looked down staring at

 her amusement from setting a stick on fire.

 “Um...everything alright kid?”

 She looked up to him nodding.

Lain was watching from not far away making sure that he wouldn’t act like an

 asshole. Kibo gave him a faint smile then went back to Bren. Lain walks back

 over with a rabbit the size of a small child. It was actually a small one for this

 region. Rabbits in this region were known to be almost the size of a full

 grown man. Kibo jumps on the rabbit cuddling the fur. 

“Can we keep the fur for a blanket?”

 Letting out a sigh I nod. I then push on my ring getting out the cooking stuff.

 This transdimensional ring came in real handy. I cooked a stew as everyone

 just sat closer to the fire. That is when I noticed that Thaddeus didn’t know

 how to handle kids. He kept watching them like they were from another 

planet. I let out a laugh as everyone started to stare.

 “Thaddeus they are not some aliens. Just relax around them would you?”

 He looks away embarrassed.

 “Don’t tell me what to do.”

 In moments like this he was actually kind of cute. After dinner we all went to

 bed. Kibo cuddled into Bren and I as Thaddeus slept further away.

In the morning we got around heading out once more. I made everyone go

 faster on the hover bikes. If there was a facility there in Kings, I wanted to

 find more information on Carson Inc. We cut down our travel time by half

 going at the faster speed. A few times we had to stop since the kids got sick

 to their stomachs. When Kings was in sight we put the hover bikes away. I 

could see that there were many crumbling buildings in this area.

 “Do you have any idea which one would have the facility?” 

Thaddeus looked over shrugging. 

“Not a clue to be honest.” 

I let out a sigh rubbing my forehead. Great so it was a needle in a haystack.

 We all walked down but I stopped everyone near the grass.

 “Don’t move.”

 I leant down moving some grass to reveal a hidden trap. Tossing a rock on

 the spot it triggered the trap. Kibo and Bren watched a little shocked as

 spikes went flying into the air.

 “Seems you weren’t joking about the outlaws in this area. This must be one

 of their traps to stop people from hunting them down.” 

I motion for the others to follow as making a safe path. Once down we come

 up with a plan on which buildings to check out first.

Off in the distance a group of people are watching Lain’s group. They seem

 amused at how easy Lain noticed all the traps. 

“Think she is their leader?”

 A man in his mid thirty’s spoke to another who looked around fifty. 

“It would appear so. If not the bitch likes to assume command.” 

They watch as her group checks out the first two buildings. Each time 

looking kind of annoyed to find nothing. Lain lets out a sigh as they near the 

building the people are hiding in. 

 “Watch yourselves in here. Seems we have been watched the entire time.”

 The other three look to her then nod. 

As they enter the last building Lain sends a strong wind ahead of them

 knocking over a few people. 

“Now you really didn’t think it would be that easy to just kill us? If you 

want to live just let me do my investigation. If you don’t then..don’t blame 

me for losing your life.”

 The older man scoffed getting up.

 “Who the hell do you think you are to tell me anything little girl? I’ve

 killed people for less then that.”

 Oh so we had a macho man on our hands. I couldn’t help but to laugh as Kibo

 and Bren got closer to me. Thaddeus walked next to me setting fire to the

 area around us.

 “If she doesn’t kill you I will. We have our own interest here. So back the 

fuck off.”

 Admittedly he caught me off guard saying that as well.
