“Ah! Aurora nice to see you again!” I shook my head and sat upright on my bed, because it's daylight I don't have to be in Reaper form and I'm glad I didn't have to. Aurora came into my room a moment later.
“Girl you are dead meat!” I tried to hold back a laugh as she continued “half the teachers are already mad that you didn't turn in last week's homework and they think this is just a rouse so you can get off of school!” I started to laugh slightly
“If it was then I would fake a cough and call in! But no, I feel like a punch from Becka would break my back then and there.” Aurora nodded knowing to well of our biggest threat. “Besides you need to realize I can't always be there for you like today…!” She nodded again
“Yes I do realize that and i'm not just using you for just protection you are actually my friend you know that right?”
“I do. speaking of Becka did she hurt you at all today?” Aurora looked at me with a distant look. Often when she does that I could tell shes thinking or figuring something out.
“No… but shes planning something…”
“What did she do this time?”
“She was nice to me all day practically bowing at my feet” She paused still with a glazed look “I think she's going to try to sever our friendship and pick us off trying to get us weaker.” I grunted at the thought.
“Oh she can try! Actually let's give her a taste of her own medicine!” Aurora looked at me dead serious.
“Are we going to break her instead?” I nodded.
“She’s a bully now karma is ready to take revenge!” I quickly saw the gleam of interest in her eyes and I continued so I could keep it there. “I say for the whole week we make her life miserable… like, ruin her so called reputation…!”
“Reveal her for who she truly is”
“Blackmail is always fun…”
“Make her suffer are pain!” I looked at Aurora knowing that I just won her over. “So what’s the plan?!”
“I say next week we start the fun! Come to my house on Saturday and ask if you can stay over so we can plan”
“Ok! Oh right, your homework” She took a binder out of her bag and laid down a ten page paper stack on my desk.
“Thanks”
“You better do it for your sake and Lily’s”
“Yeah I know…” She nodded her head and walked to the door.
“I'll see ya tomorrow!” I nodded and she lifted her arm in a fist for a second and left closing the door behind her. I got up from my bed and walked over to my desk. I looked at the work and pushed it off into the trash bin. Jeez they really think I’m going to do this crap. I looked at the trash bin and pulled it out again.
“For Lily’s sake.” I repeated. I took
out a pencil and started to work on it. About an hour later I finished just as Lily came in.
“It’s dinner time dear.”
“Ok I’ll be down in a minute!” Lily nodded and left I reorganized everything
and left to go down stairs. Max was at the table downstairs he looked barely awake.
“So how was work baby?” Lily asked. He groaned for a minute.
“Same stupid people. How bout
you?” He looked at me and I looked at the table.
“She wasn’t feeling well so I called the school.” Lily called. She came over
with a huge pot and set it on the table. She sat down and we did our small prayer.
“We thank the grace for this meal.” I got my share and ate. “We have some news…” I looked up still chewing and trying to be polite I simply nodded. “Your parents are coming home in a week.” I almost choked, I forced the
food down my throat and stared at her.
“Why so sudden?” I said half coughing.
“I don’t know the details… I guess they just miss home…?”
“Hah! With all the fancy hotels they get to stay at why in the world would
they want to come here!” Max stared at me he knew well why I was angry. I guessed he was thinking but Lily just looked distant. I sat back down and took a breath. “I’m sorry Lily…” She didn’t look at me, I sighed then asked. “May I be excused?” Max nodded and reached out to Lily. I walked up to my room, I felt bad for Lily cause she’s my aunt she knows better than anyone about my parents yet even she doesn’t know why they do this. I flopped into my bed and layed there it was still light out so I couldn’t sleep. I went to the window and stared out, I slowly took off my eye patch and saw all the long dead ghosts and reapers. I guess my ghost eye livened a normal world up. Sorry deadened, but it wasn’t all bad. Yes it’s sad that so many people died but it was also a slight relief because now more people could live a new! A crow landed on my window sill with a note on its leg. I graded the note from the crow and uncovered an old bird cage. The bird flew right in and sat on a pole. I read the note quietly to myself knowing exactly who it was from.
It’s been long enough since the child stays in heaven if he still wishes to be reincarnated as his mother’s next child you may want to start.
Sincerely,
Death
