I screamed at them to let Nightstorm go and that he's innocent. NIghtstorm went limp on the tree and I figured out that Darktail was pinning him and Purpleheart was holding me back. I jumped free from Purpleheart and stood in between Nightstorm and Darktail.

“He did nothing I tell you! Actually he helped me unlike you!” Darktail stood stunned and I took that moment to kick him and free Nightstorm. The whole group stood around us and Nightstorm laid his tail on my shoulder and pointed to an opening in the group. I looked at him half in tears but he shook his head and pushed me there. I sat down still in tears as Darktail struck his eye. Nightstorm took it and Darktail said in a low and menacing voice.

“Stay away from my daughter…” Nightstorm nodded and looked at Purpleheart as if to ask ‘why are you being so naive?’ I stood in horror waiting for someone to help him. Purpleheart gave the order to Darkscale not to heal him and he obeyed. Everyone left him and Darktail grabbed my arm and dragged me to Stareye. We went around a tree were no one could see and Stareye striked me.

“I told you to stay away from him!” she said in a low whisper, I only nodded “Answer me!”

“Ok! I'll stay away from him!” She nodded

“Now go to Darkscale and get cleaned up. Oh and those scratches are from Nightstorm.” I ran off without saying anything. Darkscale was mixing herbs when I came in he didn't speak while he dressed my wounds until.

“So ‘Nightstorm’ did this?” I nodded and he sighed. He finished and before I left he hailed me down.

“I know I shouldn't do this but take this remedy to Nightstorm for his eye. I saw him pull you in so you could let your guard down for once.” I nodded and hugged him saying a small thank you and walking away. Nightfell and I left my nest to find Nightstorm. He was still at the tree looking up to find the stars. I dropped the remedy right by him and sat down next to him.

“You shouldn't be here…”

“I know”

“No I mean you shouldn't be with this group.” I stared at him

“B- But my family?!” He sighed

“They strike you and hurt you they ignore you and try to make you like everyone else. Is that really a family?”

“Your one to talk Nightstorm.” Purpleheart was behind us and sat down next to him. “You never thought I or Shadowheart were good enough for you. You changed ever since I had her.” He looked away from both of us and Purpleheart took the remedy. I thought she was going to dump it but instead she applied it to his eye. “When you give an answer ill forgive you.” She left and went back to her nest.

“I made the same mistakes your parents are making with you now. No matter how much you pretend or fight it there will be a breaking point when you become everyone else.” He looked through the trees as if seeing a far off place. “I think it's best for you to go to a different camp. Skyhearts camp will do you good.”

“What about you?! I can't just leave you here!” He chuckled

“Skyheart knows what I did she's a little more forgiving but less trusting she won't accept me.”

“B- But you've changed I know it!”

“You know it but they don't. Don’t worry ill be fine.” I couldn't believe what was happening. “You want to know an old trick that Zeric taught us?” I nodded and he closed his eyes and I saw a shadow move on the ground through the dim light.

“Close your eyes and focus on the shadows around you.” I did like he said “imagine you are a shadow of a tree or something then break off from it.” I saw the shadow and knew it was him the shadows tail flicked and I followed him through the trees to a dip in the ground. We went around it and stepped into it opening into a huge camp with two rivers flowing through and what looked like macshift dens. I opened my eyes.

“Yes, Skyhearts camp, and I want you to go there.”
